🇬🇷 GREEK WEEK FINALE: HAVE YOU HEARD OF SAMOS?🇬🇷

I wanted to finish Greek Week with somewhere a little less obvious…

Samos

Sitting just off the coast of Turkey, this beautiful eastern Aegean island is one I think deserves much more attention.

It has that wonderfully authentic Greek feel pine-covered mountains, quiet beaches, traditional villages, ancient history, local tavernas and some seriously good food and wine.

🏛️ Birthplace of Pythagoras
🌿 Lush, mountainous landscapes
🏖️ Beautiful beaches and secluded coves
🇬🇷 Traditional villages and authentic island life

And accommodation here is just as varied.

You could stay somewhere beautifully design-led and adults-only like Casa Cook Samos, with six pools, private beach access, Mediterranean dining and a contemporary take on traditional Samian village design.

🇬🇷 How do you spend your days in Greece?

One of the reasons Greece so often finds its way to the top of my recommendations is the sheer versatility of it.

Every island has its own personality, but even within one island, you can create completely different kinds of holidays.

Maybe it's exploring ancient ruins, discovering a tiny village or spending the afternoon sailing between hidden coves.

Greece is beautiful on land… but have you seen it from the water? 🌊

There is so much to explore across Greece, but I honestly think this is one destination that deserves to be experienced from the sea too.

And I mean… just look at that water. 💙

Whether it’s a relaxed day sailing between little coves, jumping off the boat for a swim or simply sitting back with something cold whilst the coastline drifts past, there’s something very special about seeing Greece this way.

A day on the water followed by an evening watching the waves lap the shore as the sun goes down… or a family stroll back to your room after a slow beach day.

And this is coming from someone who isn’t a huge fan of open water 😂

Greece converted me.

Even better? It’s completely doable with children. My three-year-old absolutely loved the boat so much so that the gentle motion even lulled him into a very convenient little nap, leaving Mum and Dad to enjoy the views with a glass of something cold. 🥂

So if you’re planning Greece, don’t just think about which beach you’ll visit.

Think about how you could experience it from the water too. ⛵️
