Capercaillie Escapes

Capercaillie Escapes Capercaillie Escapes is a local tour operator for bespoke escorted and self-drive trips around Scotland. Where will you escape to next?

Working with individuals, families and small groups we design unique, well-paced and experience based itineraries for our clients. Everyone needs to escape now and then and there is no better place than here in Scotland. The feeling of escaping, switching off and exploring has an appeal to many who now live increasingly hectic 24/7 lives. Capercaillie Escapes aims to take away the stress of planni

ng and booking a holiday by initially working with you to understand your interests and requirements before completing all research and creating a bespoke self drive itinerary to enable you to travel at a pace and route that's just right for you. Whether a wee escape of a few days or a great escape of a few weeks, we specialise in creating itineraries which can include transport, accommodation, activities and recommendations for eating and drinking along your route. You receive all of this information in a personalised guide to take with you on your travels, along with required contact details and route information. We are also very happy to create group escapes and work with a network of outdoor adventure and activity partners to allow us to arrange all inclusive packages for you and your friends or family group. Visit our website for more information or contact us directly to start planning your trip.

The mystery of a secret door…

Opening up to a wonderful nine day luxury ladies tour across the UK, and it all started here in the Scottish Borders .

Such a wonderful group of ladies with one thing in common… their love of British Castles and Gardens! It was a privilege to be part of their journey together and a huge thank you to all the wonderful local suppliers who were involved and of course Anna who beautifully brings all these women together for a unique travel experience.

Part 1 - Scottish Borders (a sneak peak!)

What does a Scottish road trip mean to me?

Well…it’s about curiosity, adventure, surprises and beauty along the way. Stopping to hear the stillness and peace of the mountains and the lapping of water on the shores, getting lost a little and finding a local gem to stop in for a bite. Taking a seat to admire the view and a moment of feeling proud that this is ‘home’.

The destination may be the driver but the journey is just the tonic we need sometimes.

What about you? Any Scottish road trips this year?

With miles and miles of coastal paths around Scottish shores slowing down your pace a little to enjoy some time exploring the trails is always welcome. This one is the path from historic Stonehaven Harbour to Dunnottar Castle takes around 40 minutes.
