If anyone is looking to get an American Express card
The points for joining at present is good.

There is the free card and you can get a free companion voucher upon a certain spend each year. Or the paid for card like I have yet the free companion voucher is business class.

It’s actually good if you are going to pay the card off in full, interest rates are high on the card otherwise. Yet if you know you have an expensive spend coming up and Amex is a form of payment then it could be worth looking into for the free air tickets alone.

Have a read in terms and conditions as obviously it is a credit card.

Excuse the rubbish photos yet if your landing at Heathrow Terminal 5 they have a couple of freezers with Jude’s Icecreams available for you to help yourself to one whilst you wait for your luggage on the carousel.

In fairness it’s the longest wait we have had for luggage recently so had plenty of time to eat one before it came off.

Anyway if your landing have a nose. One was quite soon after the escalator down and the other around carousel 4/6 area

Just a reminder to check on prices before you get in a taxi when abroad. Or look up beforehand what you should expect to pay roughly.

Today I was in Naples and walked to our excursion.

2 separate people got taxis from the same place to the excursion.

First one paid 15 Euros

Second one they quoted between 30 to 35 Euros and by the time they were dropped off at the excursion they were charged 50 Euros!

For reference Uber worked fine here in Naples and for our return trip we did that and paid £16.50 once it was converted yet I knew I wouldn’t be ripped off that way.

Just be vigilant everyone as there are scammers everywhere and I did know I wasn’t going to be sure about Naples. I personally wouldn’t rush back here although would use it for holidays to Sorrento etc which are beautiful yet a day as a cruise ship passenger it didn’t appeal as it’s a bit of a drive and would give restrictive time there.

During my stay in Venice I did an excursion to the island of Burano. The houses were all brightly coloured and perfect for picture opportunities. We arrived by boat and had a little wander and of course a gelato. We saw traditional lace making by some local ladies.

Such a cute little place to go to and I would recommend it.

This would have been good to share on my recent flight!

Literally the man in the row in front talked so loud, literally you could hear him rows back. After a few Bloody Mary’s I thought great he’s getting quieter to which his iPad come out and was really loud.

The air hostess did nicely say at one point you need headphones on so he turned it down slightly.

So what would you do in this situation? Tell him to turn it down or wear some headphones?

Lucky for me it was a short flight

So

A) would you say something?
B ) Keep quiet?
C) Ask him to put some headphones and hope he has some?
D) Any other suggestions for next time?

To cruise or not to cruise that is the question?

Some people love them and there are others would wouldn’t like to be stuck on a ship?

Thoughts?

I love cruises as you see a taster of a destination and if you would like to return back there for a holiday or not. Seeing it as a cruise passenger isn’t the same. I learnt that in the Cayman Islands over 23 years ago. I was disappointed as had been there on 3 lovely holidays before and as a cruise ship passenger couldn’t believe the amount of people going to land that day walking round these beautiful smaller islands.
