Did you know that Aena airports have a hidden disability badge available?

Pic is an example of when we travelled.

If you have a hidden disability and need assistance at the airport you can just show your badge to airport personnel who can assist.

Aena is helping those with hidden disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder to overcome barriers they may face when travelling.
The badge is aimed for those with hidden disabilities who may have difficulties in stressful environments or where it may cause sensory stimulation. The badge shows that the person may need support, help, a little more understanding and more time.

The badge can be used to access the airport security checkpoint that is specifically for families and individuals with reduced mobility.

The airport list that currently accepts the badge is as follows.

Planning a trip to Europe soon? You may need a little extra time at the airport ✈️

A new system called the Entry/Exit System (EES) is being introduced across many European countries. It’s designed to improve border security, but it also changes how you pass through passport control.

So what does this mean for you?

• Your passport will be scanned digitally
• Your fingerprints and photo may be taken
• There could be longer queues, especially at busy airports

If you’re used to quickly passing through border control, this new process may take a bit longer, particularly during the early rollout period.

Top tip:
Arrive at the airport earlier than usual and allow extra time when travelling to Europe.

The good news is that once you’re through, your future trips should become smoother as your details will already be stored.
