Today Staines Community Centre hosted a VE Day party. 🇬🇧

They served party food and The Barnettes band accompanied with 40's and 50's music. 🎵

They were privileged to have along William Jones, who served with Royal Navy in the Pacific on HMS Nabaron 1944- 1945 and Joyce Bosisto, was wearing her father’s medals Norther Ireland Army 1939-1945, Richard Goodman, 2nd Para Falklands 1982. 🎖️

On Thursday 8 May we will be marking VE Day 80 with a ceremony at 11am outside the Council Offices at Knowle Green.

Residents are welcome to attend the ceremony alongside the Mayor of Spelthorne, Councillors and staff from Spelthorne Borough Council.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese method of health and well-being that co-ordinates breathing and gentle movement to relax and strengthen the body and mind.

These workshops consist of slow movements, breathing exercises, and meditations to promote a state of deep calm whilst improving postural alignment, balance, coordination and general well-being.
