Day 3 in Sydney
Today was spent exploring Sydney on foot ! What a beautiful sunny day. Mid twenties and it’s winter !
We began our morning at Darling Harbour before making our way towards the magnificent Queen Victoria Building (QVB), one of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks.
Continuing onwards, we strolled through Hyde Park, Sydney’s oldest public park and headed towards Kings Cross.
We got a late breakfast at the Saturday Market in Potts Point. The bacon and egg sandwiches were absolutely enormous and certainly set us up for the day ahead! We thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the market stalls, browsing the local produce.
Afterwards, we made our way to Woolloomooloo and the Royal Botanic Garden. Along the way, we stopped at the iconic Harry’s Café de Wheels — a truly legendary Sydney pie cart. The walls were lined with photographs of countless celebrities who have stopped by over the years, all having sampled the famous “Tiger Pie,” topped with creamy mashed potato, mushy peas, and rich gravy.
From there, we continued our walk along the waterfront, where we were treated to uninterrupted views across Sydney Harbour.
By the end of the day, we had walked almost 26,000 steps! A special thank you to our wonderful friends who flew in from Adelaide to spend time with us and act as our personal tour guides. Having previously lived in Sydney, their local knowledge allowed us to discover so much more of this incredible city than we ever could have on our own.
