If you are coming to the UK and want an independent mentor to help you settle in. I provide the following:
- 4 weeks regular contact by skype, phone or face to face (depending on location) to answer any questions or simply hearing about your experiences.
- Clear advice on your rights so you can make sure you are being treated fairly.
- Support speaking with your host family to make your settling in period positive and successful.
- Help you safely make contact with other au pairs in your area/interest group to create your own social circle.
- Ongoing email or phone advice if any future issues come up.

I'm putting together my new workshop programme and wanted your input on what to provide for families, especially those with au pairs.
So far things I'm considering are;
- Fun activities to keep children happy, busy and stimulated
- Affordable healthy eating - planning weekly menus
- Quick ways to find what's out there for kids in your local area
- Creating a family emergency plan

In light of referendum result - Just to reassure any au pairs who are working here from Europe, there will be no sudden changes to your au pair position in relation to your right to continue as part of the au pair exchange programme.

What I also think is worth saying is that as a Host Family, I'm eternally grateful for the investment and hard work you put into our families and your commitment to us and interest in our country for choosing to come here. Don't listen to the 'half' of the country that don't understand how much benefit and cultural/educational richness you bring by living as part of our famillies. We are ultimately a global family that need to look after each other.
