🏰 Tarbert Castle, located in the village of Tarbert, just 15minutes drive from Balinakill, is an impressive medieval stronghold with a fascinating history.

✅ Robert the Bruce, who played a significant role in Scottish history. It is believed that Robert the Bruce stayed at Tarbert Castle during his campaign to secure Scottish independence in the early 14th century. The castle provided a strategic vantage point, allowing Robert the Bruce to oversee the movement of ships in Loch Fyne and control the strategic waterway.

🏰 Today, visitors can explore the ruins of Tarbert Castle and learn more about its historical significance and its association with Robert the Bruce - for free!
