Thinking about somewhere truly different for your next adventure?

I have just written a new blog all about my journey through Bhutan: a Himalayan kingdom of ancient monasteries, dramatic mountain passes and warm, welcoming people. In it I share what it is really like to travel there, my favourite moments, and ideas for how you could experience Bhutan for yourself.

If you are curious about a trip that combines culture, scenery and a real sense of escape, have a read and see if Bhutan might be your next dream destination.
Contact me if you would like to chat through ideas for your own bespoke Bhutan itinerary.

🇬🇧🍦South West Coast Path 🥾🇬🇧

For a while now, Mr M‑S and I have been nibbling away at the South West Coast Path — and in true us‑fashion, we’re doing it backwards! This weekend’s chapter took us from Fowey to St Mawes, and Cornwall absolutely spoiled us with glorious sunshine and big blue skies.

It turned into a stunning — and rather epic — 43.5‑mile stretch, our longest section yet. The countryside was bursting with wildflowers, and we wandered past ponies, grazing cows, and spotted quite a few grey seals bobbing in the coves. We even stumbled across a hotel I’d booked for a client just last week on her two‑centre UK break — so of course I couldn’t resist popping in for a quick reccy for her!

By the time we reached St Mawes, our feet were definitely feeling every mile… but our hearts were full. That brings us to 317.5 miles out of 650 — almost halfway along this incredible path.Feet aching, spirits soaring 🤪😂

Wonderful UK break with breathtakingly scenery - one minute rugged cliffs, the next quiet coves, then wide sandy bays…❤️

🇦🇶🧊🐧 Discover the Power of the Polar Regions with an Expedition Cruise 🐻‍❄️🦭 🇳🇴❤️

There’s something about expedition cruising that gets into your soul — the kind of travel that isn’t just a holiday, but a feeling, a challenge, and a privilege.

Over the last 12 months, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to both the Arctic and Antarctica, experiencing these extraordinary places first‑hand. That means when I help you plan your own journey, you’re not just getting advice — you’re getting insight from someone who’s stood on the ice, watched the wildlife, felt the cold, and understands exactly what makes these voyages life‑changing.

What I love most about expedition cruising is the sense of true discovery — stepping into remote landscapes, watching wildlife in its natural habitat, and feeling that rare mix of serenity and adventure you can’t find anywhere else.

If this kind of travel speaks to you, get in touch and we can make those dreams a reality.

• Raw polar beauty — towering icebergs, endless horizons, and colours you can’t believe until you see them.
• Living history — from heroic‑age explorers to remote communities with stories that stay with you.
• Wildlife encounters — penguins, seals, whales, seabirds… all in their natural, fragile world.
• Small ships — intimate, friendly, and built for adventure, not crowds.
• Active exploration — zodiac landings, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and moments that make you feel truly alive.
• Expert-led learning — scientists, historians, naturalists, and photographers who deepen every experience.
• Incredible food — because adventure tastes even better when the meals are this good.
• Responsible travel — every landing, every zodiac ride, every moment handled with care for you and the environment.
• The legendary polar plunge — cold, crazy, unforgettable.

These places — Antarctica, the Arctic, and the wild corners in between — are some of the most fragile, powerful, and humbling environments on Earth. Experiencing them changes you.

Let me help you discover it.

🇳🇴🦌🛳️ Arctic Magic aboard the Ocean Explorer: Our Final Chapter… 😔🇳🇴

Our last day in the Svalbard Archipelago brought together everything I love about Polar expeditions: History is etched into every shoreline, every landing reveals something new, the rugged landscapes are endlessly spectacular, and the wildlife — constantly adapting to survive — is a wonder to witness. Each zodiac outing tells its own story, and all of the above reminds me just how fragile this part of the world is, and how we must protect it…

This morning we landed in Ny‑London, where early‑19th‑century remnants still whisper of marble‑mining dreams long gone. We walked for hours across the tundra, spotting reindeer in their winter‑white coats and discovering traces left behind by miners, trappers, and hunters of the past.

In the afternoon, Fjortende Julibreen greeted us with its wild Arctic symphony: cliffs alive with kittiwakes, guillemots, and gaucous gulls — and even the unexpected joy of puffins returning earlier than usual to Svalbard.

Tonight’s farewell dinner and the beautiful film created by the ship’s photographer brought together everything that made this voyage unforgettable. Smiles, memories, and more than a few misty eyes.

What a journey. What a final chapter. What a place. ❄️💙🐦
