𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 - 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲!!

🌿 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩.

With 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 approaching, it got me thinking about the kind of trips where the purpose isn’t to see as much as possible, but to slow down and reconnect with yourself and your surroundings.

Imagine waking beside Lake Windermere, starting the day with yoga, taking a dip in the lake surrounded by mountains, and ending the day with a quiet, meditative yoga session.

No rushing from one attraction to another. No list of things you must see.

Just a few days to breathe, move, spend time in nature and properly switch off.

A Yoga & Wild Swimming Retreat in the Lake District, meditating and doing yoga with sheep around you, going away on a Surf, Yoga and Meditation retreat amongst many, are the kind of experiences I think 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 should inspire.

Because sometimes, doing less is exactly what we need. 🌿

About 5 days ago, I posted the September edition of my monthly newsletter about Hidden Gems in Europe (please scroll down if you want to subscribe to it, it is Free! and you will get to discover lots of interesting destinations)

But, do not forget that in the UK we have some lovely hidden gems of our own which are definitely worth mentioning!

My husband and I went out for a drive on Saturday morning and tucked in country lane, we came across The Woodcock Inn Crankbrook. It is small but with full of character inn and the food was delicious, as you will see by the video I have shared. I have been reliably informed that Sunday Roast is cooked to perfection and it is recommended you book in advance if you wish to enjoy it!

I'm delighted to be attending the 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at Glaziers Hall in London on 29–30 September.

Alongside an exciting programme of expert-led sessions and practical workshops, I'm looking forward to meeting expedition cruise operators through a series of one-to-one appointments, exploring new commercial opportunities and strengthening industry partnerships.

I'm looking forward to a valuable day of learning, meaningful conversations and connections with the wider expedition cruise community.

✈️ 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

So I thought I’d share a little bit about what being a travel agent means to me.

It isn’t just about finding a hotel and a flight.

It’s listening when someone tells me what they really want from their holiday. It’s spending hours researching destinations, finding those experiences that make a trip special, and sometimes saying “No, I don’t think that’s right for you” and starting again.

I get to plan honeymoons, family adventures, once-in-a-lifetime journeys, relaxing escapes and trips to places people may never have thought of visiting.

And one of the best parts? Hearing from someone afterwards and knowing that a journey I helped create has become part of their memories.

So today, on National Travel Agent Day, I just want to say 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to everyone who has trusted me with their travels. Whether you’ve travelled with me before, have something planned, or simply follow MCM Travels for a little inspiration.

Here’s to many more journeys and many more stories to tell. 🌍

After a very busy week planning a wonderful mixture of honeymoons, a railway adventure and two very special 2027 solar eclipse holidays, I think I’m ready to embrace the weekend and enjoy a slightly slower pace for a couple of days!

There is only one problem with spending all week planning everyone else’s holidays… it constantly makes me want to go on holiday too!

I guess that’s one of the perks; or perhaps the dangers; of being a travel agent!

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 - 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝!

Some people and some songs just seem to have always been there, and Dolly Parton was one of them.

I have always loved “9 to 5”. The moment it comes on, you know exactly what it is, and I can never resist singing along!

It is strange to think of the country music world without Dolly in it. She was completely unique, and I think the country landscape will miss that unmistakable voice, personality and humour enormously.

I know “9 to 5” will still be making me smile for many years to come. ❤️🎶
