The Historic Carlisle tours are back! Discover the fascinating history and heritage of this ancient city from Roman times to the Norman Conquest; from the English Civil War to the Jacobite Rebellions and the Industrial Revolution. Over the course of 2000 years, has witnessed many turbulent times, all of which have left their mark on this great Border city.

During the tour, we will wander along ancient streets, uncover the city’s hidden secrets, admire the medieval Guildhall and discover the historic significance of the Cathedral and St Cuthbert’s Church.

Tours start at 1.30 pm every Thursday & 10.30am every Sunday. Cost is £10.00 per person (children aged 16 and under are free). Places must be booked through Carlisle Tourist Information Centre (01228 598596) or through https://www.trybooking.co.uk/BLBB.
