In Kirkby Stephen Parish Church, known locally as the "Cathedral of the Dales", is the 10th Century Loki Stone, which is one of only two such stones in the whole of Europe. Thought to date back to Viking times, legend says, it shows a carving of the Norse God of Mischief, Loki bound in chains.

We met our little night-time buddy out watching the incredible meteorite shower last night.
We were lucky to have clear skies to watch the stars dancing!
This little dude is often wandering round at night sucking up juicy worms, be careful not to disturb him/her and keep your doggies on leads for their pre-bed walk.
