Thetford Forest, with its forest trails, dog walks and horse rides, and of course, the opportunity to enjoy nature and the local wildlife. For the more adventurous Go Ape in Thetford Forest High Lodge where you can be brave and attempt the tree top adventure, hire bikes or Segways and cycle through this lovely area. The Norfolk Broads are also within reach for a day trip and you can hire a launch or join a charter and explore along with a guide. For those seeking more coastal pursuits, head to Holkham with its beach that goes on for miles and excellent for horse riding, visit the grey seals at Horsey Gap or try fish and chips in Wells-next-the-Sea with its narrow gauge railway and picturesque quay. Try and squeeze in a visit to the medieval city of Norwich, with its proud Norman castle, numerous museums and great places to shop and eat, you won’t be disappointed. There are some great horse riding opportunities around too and for horse owners who wish to take their horse with them on holiday, there is also a livery at High House Farm where you can bring your horse along too (at cost, subject to availability). There are numerous National Trust properties and stately homes, great walks and cycle paths, and bird and wildlife watching opportunities, you’ll see why Norfolk is so popular.
