Thailand... away from the cameras!

Koh Samui - and specifically Four Seasons Resort - has been confirmed as the next destination to benefit from the 'White Lotus' effect (the dramatic uplift in bookings after each season of the Emmy-winning series has aired).

Whilst the droves may head to the tiny island, we have an itinerary including a couple of alternative resorts to Koh Samui to consider.

Iconic trips: Zoom across Japan on the iconic bullet train.

A bullet train zipping past Mount Fuji at 200mph is one of the most iconic images of Japan. In October 2024, the bullet train - or Shinkansen - celebrated 60 years since its first foray on the fabled Tokaido route from Tokyo to Osaka, via Kyoto. The route opened up the country to those wanting easy (and faster) access to Japan’s many facets, from futuristic cityscapes to traditional spa retreats in the mountains.

UK Passport holders.....now might be a good time to check when your passport runs out.

From 10 April 2025, the fee for a standard online application made from within the UK will rise from £88.50 to £94.50 for adults and £57.50 to £61.50 for children. Postal applications will increase from £100 to £107 for adults and £69 to £74 for children.

The fee for a one-day, Premium Service application made from within in the UK will rise from £207.50 to £222 for adults and £176.50 to £189 for children.

I always send clients a reminder 9 months before their passports are due to expire to make sure there's plenty of time to renew and so they can carry on travelling!

When I set up my business 12 years ago under Travel Counsellors it was huge leap out of my comfort zone.

Had I known just how much I DIDN’T know about travel and running my own travel business I’d never have taken the jump.
