The hedge is really starting to take. I think the weather when we planted was perfect, we had a mix of sunshine and rain and it’s really got the young trees settled in and starting to grow new leaves. Lots of them are even starting to poke out the top of their tubes! And look at all those blue bells that are already there!

Blue Bells in open fields usually indicate that there has been ancient woodland there at some point in the past, and have managed to hang on despite the shelter and grazing pressures after the woodland has been cleared. I’m sure they’ll love a bit of shelter the hedges will provide here.

We got the payment through from RPW after we sent them all out geotagged photos so hopefully now we know how it works we’ll be able to apply for more funding to do projects like this in the future.

We have been adding a few new touches around the farm. Here we have upgraded in the kitchen with a new air fryer, perfect for cooking the kids dinner whilst your roast is using up the space in the range.

We’ve also bought this new Bluetooth speaker so you can listen to your own music with high quality sound anywhere in the house.

New herb labels

We added these planters a couple of weeks ago but I wanted to make sure the edible herbs are labelled so I ordered these copper plant labels and punched in the labels by hand. You will be able to find: assorted thymes, rosemary, bay, sage, marjoram, chives, garlic chives, oregano, lavender and fennel. They’re still a bit small at the moment but hopefully by the end of the summer we’ll have some lovely hardy herbs for our guests to cook with.

New oak wardrobe in our downstairs bedroom.

We are always trying to respond to our guests feedback and this is one we’ve had a few times! We try hard not to clutter the house up with unnecessary furniture but we are adding a few key storage spaces for our guests so they have somewhere to hang their nice frocks.

Spent today doing a MapRun (two things I usually avoid like the plague) in the heart of Eryri (the artist formerly known as Snowdonia). It'll take you between 15 - 30 minutes to get from Fron Goch to the starting point of some of the best walks in the UK. Less driving, more fun 🚗 🎽 🏃🏃‍♀️🐎🍺
