Sam White: Artist It is this story that I am interested in, however simple it might be. Our life experiences shape who we are. Narrative underpins all my work.

I am a mixed media artist, working from my studio near the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire.I often work in paint to produce figurative pieces, but am currently concentrating on drawing and embroidery. Sam White: Artist’s Statement
People are fascinating to observe: The shapes they make, their emotions and interactions and the clothes they wear, all tell a story. Personal memories and historical co

ntext are integral to our being. Drawing and painting form the basis of my practice but I often integrate other mediums, to best communicate my interpretation of events to the viewer. I am currently exploring my own memories and their connection to the present day. Recent time spent in my old primary school has released long forgotten emotions but also emphasised the issue of continuity, the unbroken thread of life. Ultimately, my work is informed by all these thoughts, feelings, sounds and visual stimuli that are created by us as human beings.
