ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE - SUNDAY 24 AUGUST- 7AM-8PM
The festival is hosting a live-music event on Bridgnorth High Street on Sunday 24 August. This event is the biggest day for the Bridgnorth Festival and as you may know, brings a considerable number of visitors into the town.
From 7am onwards on Sunday 24 August, the High Street (from Whitburn Street to Postern Gate) is closed to all traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles. This road closure has been approved by Shropshire Council and is to allow for our teams to safely erect all the required equipment and to accommodate a safe and effective environment for the large footfall of pedestrians visiting the Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival.
Please note:
*Whitburn Street will be open to traffic which can access Church Street and the Northgate.
*St Marys' Street will be access only and there will be no access for traffic onto the High Street from these side streets.
*The 'no entry' on the High St/Postern Gate junction will be suspended to allow traffic access to Cartway and Friars Street.
*High Street Parking is suspended from 7am - 8pm (Whitburn Street to Postern Gate)
Local residents affected have received hand delivered notices in advance and signage will be in place on the day.
The music commences at 12 noon and events continue through until 6.00pm. The roads will remain closed until 8pm to allow for the dismantling of all equipment and the clearing process however, we will be opening an access lane along the High Street as soon as it is safe to do so.
We understand you may find the road closures inconvenient and for that, we apologise, as a resident myself I do understand the difficulties of resident parking. However we hope that you agree that these events contribute towards keeping Bridgnorth a thriving town and are a draw for local residents and tourists alike.
Thank you everyone!
