Keeping with the wonderful Sri Lankan theme I just wanted to showcase another hotel in the South of Sri Lanka. We met the fabulous owner of located in Mirissa which is about an hour from Galle and under 3 hours from Colombo airport.

Sri Sharavi is a gorgeous small boutique hotel directly on the beach and has the largest salt water pool in the whole of Sri Lanka. The rooms are bright and airy & have stunning sea views. The restaurant offers exceptional local & international dishes.

It’s a great location to stop and relax after a tour of Sri Lanka and just spend time unwinding on the beautiful beach.

If you’re looking for activities the South has a really cool surfer vibe with lovey towns & villages with a tropical feel. There is much to see and do locally including whale watching, hiking, visiting the local temples, cycling & visiting the Yala or Udewalawe National Parks where you can see elephants, leopards, bears & monkeys among many more incredible wildlife.

If you would like to find out more about Sri Sharavi, Sri Lanka or any other locations get in contact!

Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to a presentation of by .
These stunning properties are located in Sri Lanka which is fast becoming ever more popular for both couples & families. There has been a need for some higher end over the last few years and Uga have some of the most stunning properties in equally stunning locations from Anuradhapura in the centre to Trincomalee & Pasikuda on the gorgeous unspoiled East Coast to better known Yala on the South Coast. There is so much to see and do in Sri Lanka from hiking the gorgeous tea plantations, to visiting the cultural centre, Wildlife reserves where you can see elephants, leopards, monkeys, sloth bears to name a few. The people are wonderful and the food is some of the best I’ve eaten and it’s a vegetarian & vegan paradise with so many different vegetable dishes. Today is World Conservation Day, and I wanted to take the opportunity to remind you how tourism has a powerful role to play in supporting some of the world's most threatened landscapes and species. Not only does it help to provide funding for critical conservation projects, but it also leads to wildlife being perceived locally as an asset to preserve.Every guest who visits Loisaba Conservancy, Kenya, helps contribute directly to the protection of rhinos through conservancy fees and community-led initiatives. To find out how your next trip can contribute to conservation, contact me today.

I’ve recently put together a quote for a lovely client of mine & their family for a gorgeous half term trip to They wanted a city and desert experience so we looked at the gorgeous which is a luxury hotel right in the heart of the Medina. The hotel is beautifully designed & the bedrooms are very stylish & painted in rich, vibrant colours. The pool & roof top terrace are perfect for daytime relaxation or an evening drink before dinner. If you’re not wanting to travel too far, Agafay desert is a perfect location to experience some desert life. It’s about 45 minutes from the city & is a stunning desert camp with Atlas Mountain views, lunar landscapes, and exquisite food: This Moroccan desert oasis is the perfect otherworldly escape. There are lots of activities including camel riding, dune buggies, cookery classes & star gazing ✨ To find out more about this or any other trip I can help with simple holidays or complex itineraries from Europe to far flung places. 🇳🇴 I’ve just booked this fantastic Summer adventure to Norway for a local family with young Viking loving sons!

They are off on an epic journey to this magical land that’s equally as beautiful in summer as it is in Winter!

Staying in 4 different locations to really get a taste of the region.

🏢 Starting in Oslo and viewing the sights of this bustling city.

🚞 Then taking the spectacularly scenic Flam railway, descending through tunnels, waterfalls & ravines to the peaceful village of Aurland by the fjords edge.

🗻 Next visiting Voss which is known for skiing & extreme sports including white water rafting.

🛶 Then onto Bergen with its picturesque brightly coloured houses & famous Viking history.

This is a really different type of summer holiday for your little adventurers & they will make some very special memories in this wonderful country.

The last part of our amazing adventure finished in Lombok. Sadly we only had a couple of nights here but I really feel the need to go back and explore.

The Hindu minority religion is still practised in Lombok alongside the majority Muslim religion. After Bali and the islands this felt much calmer and more relaxed. The infrastructure is much more organised in many ways and the roads are good which means travelling about is much easier and quicker.

The island is very green and full of beautiful trees. I really loved the vibe.

We are definitely going to head back on our next trip to take in more of Lombok and some of the other Indonesian Islands.

I wasn’t really ready to come home but all good things and holidays must come to an end 💚

Getting towards the end of our trip we stopped at & stayed at beautiful for a couple of nights.
Gili T as it’s affectionately known is tiny & beautiful but a little over developed. There are 3 islands in the Gili group, Gili Air & Gili Meno and this is the largest and most populated. There are a lot of backpackers & also higher end holiday makers.
The islands use horse & carts to ferry tourists around as there are no cars. This was a big no for us and we hired electric scooters instead to get ourselves & our luggage from the port. We actually kept these for the duration of our trip & had a great time pootling around 😆
You can also hire bicycles to navigate the island.
It was a fun place to stay for a couple of nights but as the island really is tiny there’s not a huge amount to do.
Our hotel Cocana was absolutely gorgeous so we spent time relaxing after what was a really busy trip so far.
I’m pleased we visited but personally prefer more wild & rugged & off the beaten track…

Our next stop…Nusa Lembongan an island 30 mins off the coast of Bali. This was one of my favourite parts of the trip as we met up with my first born Loris who has been travelling SE Asia for 8 months so far. He’s off to Oz soon so I felt I needed to see him before we was even further away 😂
We stayed in the most gorgeous little Balinese house and rode around on scooters on this incredible island. Apparently it’s like Bali was 20/30 years ago. Unspoilt and not overrun with tourists & even though It’s a sleepy little place in comparison to Bali it still offers some excellent restaurants and fun bars & swanky beach clubs.
We found empty pristine beaches with turquoise waters and there was a sense of serenity and calm. Maybe meeting up with my boy helped that feeling 🥰
I would absolutely go off track and visit the islands if you are in that part of the world as they are really very special 🌴
We head off to Gili Trawangan which is another much busier island on my next post…

For the next part of our adventure we visited beautiful Ubud in Bali. We had 2 nights stay which has literally one of the most beautiful pool settings I’ve ever seen! Surrounded by palms and trees and overlooking the rice paddy in the distance.
The hotel is a five star boutique hotel which is part of a very small privately owned chain. In reality it’s more 4 star but this didn’t detract from stunning surroundings and the room as you can see was vast and very comfortable.
The outside restaurant was beautifully decorated and the food was divine! We had a truly relaxing stay here are the hustle and bustle of our night in Singapore.
Bali is busy with traffic on the main routes but there are many magical locations and Ubud really exceeded my expectations. There are many beautiful hotels and I would go back in a heartbeat to try them out! 🌴

We went on a fantastic adventure to Bali & Lombok partly for a holiday and partly to visit my boy who had been backpacking around SE Asia for the last 6 months.
We decided to stop off in Singapore for a night en-route to Denpasar in Bali as it’s a bit of a long journey & Singapore is a fantastic city in which to spend a night! We arrived to sultry 30 plus degrees with dramatic skies and thundery weather. We checked into which is in the heart of China town. A gorgeous low rise building designed by Bond girl turned interior designer, Anouska Hempel. Decorated in dark colours with accents of yellow and gold it was cosy and the perfect place to stay as we wanted to avoid the tower block hotels.
More to come on our next stop…
