Mornings just got extra special at Strathspey Railway!

Travel in our Chairmans' or Directors' Saloon, on our 10:15 departures from Aviemore and enjoy a continental breakfast. This includes a croissant, Danish pastry, tea, coffee or orange juice. A gluten-free selection of cakes and biscuits are also available. Please specify any dietary requirements during the booking process. Perfect for a relaxed and memorable morning.

The carriage is split into two sections. The front of the carriage is the 'Chairman's Saloon'. A Spacious Carriage for Your Exclusive Use, which can seat up to 6 individuals - perfect for a friend or family gathering. With windows on three sides, offering Panoramic Views. The carriage will be coupled directly to the locomotive on the outward journey, on the return journey you get the view of the whole line. A Dedicated Steward is onboard, throughout the journey, to look after you.

The back of the carriage is the 'Director's Saloon'. A Bright & Spacious Carriage for Your Exclusive Use. It seats up to 6 individuals and comes in at lower price point than the Chairman's Saloon, making that friend or family gathering more affordable but still just as luxurious! The Dedicated onboard Steward will be on hand throughout the journey.

The ticket prices are a whole package price, inclusive of your return travel, exclusive use of your chosen saloon and relevant catering option for the number stated.

About Us

The Treehouse is a wonderfully distinctive self-catering lodge, situated in the village of Boat of Garten, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, near Aviemore. It is set in almost an acre of mature pine and birch woodland, and elevated to maximise the views of the Cairngorm Mountains and the renowned, award winning Boat of Garten Golf Course.

The awesome high level deck is the perfect vantage point for watching birds, red squirrels, and roe deer. It is also a great place for al fresco dining, or to view the trains on the Strathspey Steam railway.

The Treehouse is a relaxing and welcoming place, with those extra special touches, to make it more of a ‘home’ than a ‘house’. The spacious, open plan lounge has a great log burning fire, the kitchen is fully equipped, and there are 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 7 guests. Pets are welcome.

The lodge is set amongst the trees, away from the road, and is not overlooked, yet is only a few minutes’ walk from the local shops and restaurants. It is on a side road, which leads directly on to cycle paths and woodland walks. There is a covered area for bikes, storage room inside for wet and muddy gear, and ample parking.
