Meet the Locals!
When you are out and about touring in the Rothiemurchus area like our Blue Badge guide Maggie McLeod, you often have to deal with the locals. Not really a hard task - how cute are these guys?

Flodigarry Spread - Isle of Skye
It must be said that Scotland has some quite fabulous food and drink. In this case it was the turn of the Flodigarry Hotel to showcase a seafood lunch. Quite spectacular and the views aren't so bad either. Flodigarry Hotel is in the north of Skye just beyond Staffin.

Over the sea to Skye.

This snap taken on a recent tour to Skye. This is the original Skye Ferry which runs between Glenelg and Kylerhea. Today this unique turntable ferry is run by a social enterprise set up to safeguard the historic ferry route. Skye can be a very busy island so it’s always an advantage to know where the quieter routes are.

When Facebook asks you ‘What’s on your mind’ then as a tourist guide I think this photo answers the question. The season is just about on me again. I’m looking forward to travelling throughout Scotland and hopefully catching some atmospheric views like this one. You can almost hear the lilt of bagpipes and braying of the stags.

My very own bonsai garden in Scotland. As you drive south on the A82 from Glencoe you pass the amazing Lochan na h-Achlaise which less romantically translates as Loch of the Armpit! It always reminds me of an extensive wild bonsai garden. No matter how many times I see it I am always amazed at its beauty with the Glen Etive mountains forming a lovely backdrop.

Welcome back, it's been a quiet spell but managed to get out and about over the January period. Had a lovely stay at the wee chalet on Skye which looks out over Staffin Bay - see photo 1. In the distance are the mountains of Torridon on the mainland. Photo 2 - looking back gives a tremendous view of the Trotternish Ridge. I'm looking forward so much to getting back out on the road around our lovely country.
