Wellswood Village itself is just a 5-minute walk, by road or woodland (steps and road option), and is one of the most charming areas of Torquay. Everything you need for day to day living is in Wellswood, including a very good Co-op, restaurant, wine bar, delicatessen, bakery, post office, florist and dog friendly pub - The Kents, is a local's friendly with a sunny beer garden. Torquay is the birthplace of crime writer Agatha Christie and also home of the former Gleneagles Hotel, inspiration for ’Fawlty Towers’. Remembrance Services and Ceremonies are taking place across Torbay on Sunday 10 November and Monday 11 November, as we unite to remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces Community of the UK and Commonwealth.

To ensure Remembrance Sunday can be safe and secure for all, there will be some road closures and parking restrictions put in place.

💡 A reminder that the Strand in Torquay will be closed to all traffic between Tuesday 15 October and Friday 29 November.

✅ This is so we can complete work on our first Town Deal funded improvement project.
