Eda Frandsen Sailing 🌊 Classic Voyages for Modern Adventurers ⛵️ Eda Frandsen is a beautiful traditional gaff cutter, built in 1939 in Denmark. Never sailed before?

She offers the finest traditional sailing in the Western Isles of Scotland, in Cornwall and the West country. Come on your own, with a friend, partner or a whole group and explore some of the best sailing grounds, abundant wildlife, good food and company and fantastic sailing. Sailing on Eda is a hands on experience, you can become involved in all aspects of running the boat as well as have time t

o sit back, relax and enjoy the surroundings. All trips include bedding, all meals using locally sourced fresh produce, wet weather and safety equipment and professional crew. that's not a problem, many people haven't, you'll receive a full briefing and Eda is very stable with large decks and plenty of space. Whether you are a beginner or experienced seafarer, there is plenty to do and we are happy to teach if you are interested to learn. All ages are welcome

If you are interested or would like to find out more about sailing on Eda, the best way is to call or email us or visit or website www.eda-frandsen.co.uk

Eda started life as a Danish fishing vessel and in the 1990s was discovered by her previous owners, who took her to Scotland, rebuilt and fitted her out for her current use as a charter vessel. A gaff cutter rig was chosen, with a large yet versatile sail area, rather than a ketch rig that would have been favoured for fishing. After a major fire ashore in 1993, she was extensively rebuilt by the owners, which involved a team of volunteers, lots of hard work and determination, and 3 years later Eda was launched. Beautifully kept and maintained, the level of craftsmanship and detail is first class.

He’s back! We’re off to Scotland with King Gabriel and Admiral Joel along to lend a hand! We are just about to round the Lizard on this hazy morning. Some of you will remember Gabe from his previous forays on the deck of Eda Frandsen, so we were delighted when he said he could come along on this passage.

Thank you to all of our lovely suppliers that have see us through the few couple of weeks of our season, we hope you all have a fabulous summer and we will see you again in the autumn!

Until next time Falmouth!

It’s been big a year folks! 🥂🍾
Our biggest ever, and we are humbled to say that thanks to you our voyages for 2025 are completely sold out! 🎉
A huge thank you to everyone that joined us this year, and a special huge thank you to all of our wonderful suppliers & everyone in Mallaig that makes our life that little bit easier.
We are still just a tiny company and getting to work with such great people makes a huge difference. Thank you to Alice, Joel & Jan who joined us at different points in the season to lend extra pairs of hands, you were the best when we really needed it. Everyone loved your company and it taught me that everything will be okay even if Mungo & I can’t be there all the time.

We really do feel like the luckiest people for having the chance to split our time between such beautiful parts of the world as Scotland & Cornwall, and of course for getting to share our adventures with all of you.

So here’s to many more adventures in 2025 and all the joy and excitement that a New Year brings! 🥂🌊🎉🍾✨

Lots of love,
Stella & Mungo

Sailing in Scotland for the last 4 years has taught me many things. It has taught me to listen, to watch, to take time and be patient. The prize for your patience is a lifetime of places to discover. 4 years into exploring its Western Coastline, I still feel as though we have barely scratched the surface.….

Warm wishes on the Winter Solstice all!

There is a little treat waiting for you over on the Journal page of our website…

There is a little round-up of some of the places we visited this season, along with a sneaky recipe for a very crowd-pleasing Red Onion Tarte Tatin that might make the perfect betwixtmas lunch. There is also a playlist of our favourite songs from Eda Frandsen’s Saloon this year, perfect for when you are not sure what to put on in the background whilst making Christmas dinner!

Head to the Journal page of our website for the full how-to!
