Ed, Harriet, Rory and Toby welcome you to enjoy the wonders of the Eden Valley and Low Ploughlands nestled at the foot of the Pennines. Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the Lake District you are spoilt for choice on the great outdoors. Brockram (the local name for the stone) and Keld (a Viking term for a ‘spring’) were last used for the housing of dairy cows. In 2014,
works started to convert the barn into two luxury holiday units. We have strived to work with the building and incorporate as many natural materials including the exposed oak trusses and limestone flagged floors, whilst adding modern luxuries such as underfloor heating and en suites with rain showers. Both barns are filled with natural light flowing from the large entrance hall windows through to the bi-fold doors of the Kitchen and the Sitting Room which provides an up lifting space in which to relax, party and enjoy your holiday. On a summers day open wide the bi-fold doors and soak in the magnificent view over the large pond with waders and swallows swooping into drink, and beyond to Nine Standards and the Mallerstang Valley. In winter view the frosted hills in comfort and curl up by the log burner. Rent the barns together to accommodate 16 or individually. Brockram Barn sleeps 8 and consists of:
2 Superking bedrooms
2 zip-link beds which are the size of a superking when zipped toghether.
3 out of the 4 bedrooms are en-suite, and there is a family bathroom. Keld Barn also sleeps 8 and consists of:
1 Superking with en-suite
1 king size with ensuite
2 bedrooms with zip-link beds which are the size of a superking when put together both have en-suites.
1 family bathroom
Our location is enviable the barn looks out to the Pennines in the East, which often glow red in the evening light and by day the clouds dance their shadow across them; to the south you can see the marching army of Nine Standards where the Coast to Coast path crosses into Yorkshire and the Mallerstang Valley which holds the source of the River Eden; to the north and south is a rural idyll of farmland and woodland that hold bountiful wildlife from Roe Deer, Red Squirrel, Hare and Stoat to name but a few.
