Sometimes you don't fancy going high and the Lantys Tarn path to Keldas is a great alternative, especially coming down the longer path to Ghyllside into Glenridding. A super 3 hour circuit from the cottages and you can always stop for an ice-cream too! Perfect summertime walk ☀️🍦😁

For a boggy moorland the top of Ullscarf today was rather wonderful. Worth getting wet feet and snow blown into our faces...even for this one rather remote Wainwright.

The house elves have been busy decorating and cleaning the cottages with lots of new additions for the forthcoming season, including this little character who sets off the new interior scheme in the back single bedroom at Stone Cottage. With great new throw and cushion from Melin Tregwynt, prints from local designers TheNorthernLine Ulverston plus Herdwick wool coat hangers and Vanessa Arbuthnott Fabrics on the blind.
The views are unchanged and need no flouncing! We still have availability in Hares Garth in August and Stone Cottage next weekend.
