We’ve been very quiet on Facebook recently but it’s been busy in the cottage which has had its fair share of guests. Here are some our favourite photos of this beautiful part of the world from the last few months.

We’re getting ready for a busy summer but we still have availability for early June and some of July if you fancy a quiet break in the countryside.

Did you know Attingham Park was the most visited paid attraction in the West Midlands in 2023, welcoming nearly 592,000 visitors. It’s an amazing place. You can arrive to a full car park and still feel like there are only a handful of people there as you explore the estate.

🎄 A snowy sunrise at Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury, features in Day 20 of our Shropshire advent calendar. The golden reflections in the windows caught my eye as I was driving past, and I just had to stop to capture this lovely pink light from a bridge over the River Tern. 🎅

A worthy Day 16. Clun is a place close to our hearts. Many happy family occasions here.

🎄 Clun Castle at sunset is the subject of Day 16 in our Shropshire advent calendar. In the distance is Sowdley Wood, which is part of Black Hill. This picture was taken just seconds before the sun disappeared and the castle became shrouded in shadow. 🎅

A now and then look at the 1984 film version of Christmas Carol starring George C. Scott, Frank Finlay, Edward Woodward and Susannah York which was filmed in Shrewsbury. More information about the production is in a link in the comments.

A stunning photo of a place we know well. A favourite walk of ours involves parking up at Colemere and walking along the canal to Ellesmere.

🎄 It's Day 10 of our Shropshire advent calendar, and here's Stokesay Castle with snow-covered Ragleth seen in the distance. I was on my way to Clun, but couldn’t resist calling in at what is the best-preserved fortified medieval manor house in England. 🎅

🎄 It's Day 1 in our Shropshire advent calendar and here is beautiful Ludlow beneath a layer of hoar frost. This was my view from Whitcliffe Common, and to say it was bitterly cold on that day would be a huge understatement! ⛄️

Needed a bit of help with first grass cut this year. The mild winter has meant the grass has not stopped growing!
