10 years of running group trips has taught me a lot about what matters to me when it comes to travel - and shaped how I do things at Rock My Adventure.

Going beyond the bucket-list activities. Supporting local people. Keeping groups small. Mixing adventure with comfort. Showing people just how varied and incredible Africa really is.

And one of my favourite things - bringing together people of different ages, nationalities, backgrounds and walks of life who might never otherwise have met… and watching them become besties. ❤️

Over the years, our travellers have ranged from 18 - 82 and come from over 30 different nationalities - with most joining their trips solo.

10 years later, I still absolutely love helping people fall in love with Africa, and seeing the friendships, memories and ridiculous stories that come out of these trips never gets old. 💫

Dreaming of Africa? This RMA trip has a little bit of EVERYTHING. 🇰🇪🇹🇿

This is 17 days/16 nights of wildlife, culture, adventure, beautiful places and those random in-between moments that somehow end up being the ones you remember most.

We’ll look for rhinos in Nairobi National Park, meet the baby elephants at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, before heading out to the Maasai Mara for incredible safaris and time with our Maasai friends.

Then we cross into Tanzania for safari across the endless Serengeti plains, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, explore local life in Mto wa Mbu, hike to Materuni Waterfall and learn to make coffee the traditional Chagga way.

And then… Zanzibar. 🌴

Stone Town, sunset drinks, sailing the Indian Ocean on a traditional dhow, snorkelling, swimming, incredible food, Maalum Cave, The Rock and a few days soaking up island life in Paje.

It’s the big bucket-list moments, but it’s also so much more than a safari.

Most people join us solo, so you don’t need to wait for someone else to come with you. Just turn up, meet your travel buddies and we’ll take care of the rest. ❤️

A few highlights from our last trip to Sierra Leone 🇸🇱

This trip is just so special - it’s hard to describe! Think remote islands, camping on the beach, bathing in the sea (not for all of it 😅), shoes optional, sleeping in villages… but we start and end with a bit of luxury in Freetown and on the Peninsula - pure magic ✨✨✨

MADAGASCAR GROUP TRIP - 15 NIGHTS 🇲🇬

If you’ve ever dreamed of drifting down wild rivers, camping under endless stars, wandering through alien limestone landscapes, and watching lemurs leap through the trees… this one’s for you.

This is fun, small-group adventure with like-minded travellers, led with care, local knowledge, and a lot of heart.

We’ll begin in Antananarivo and Antsirabe. Then comes a truly epic 3-day expedition down the remote Tsiribihina River - camping on the riverbanks, spotting wildlife, and meeting local communities along the way.

From there, we’ll explore the dramatic Grand and Petit Tsingy de Bemaraha, search for lemurs and fossas in Kirindy, and soak up sunset on the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs before visiting a traditional Vezo fishing village.

To finish, we’ll unwind on Nosy Be and Nosy Komba, with a day trip to Nosy Iranja (Turtle Island), black lemur sightings, and the chance to swim with whale sharks.

We’re raising funds to help build a much-needed school on the remote Turtle Islands of Sierra Leone. This incredible community welcomed us during our recent Rock My Sierra Leone Adventure, and we’re determined to support them.

Right now, the children are being taught in a makeshift classroom. While a new school is under construction, they’ve run out of funds to complete it. With the rainy season fast approaching in May, we’re stepping in to help raise the money needed to finish the project.

Every donation makes a difference, and even sharing this post helps us reach more people. Together, we can make a lasting impact!
