Thoughts to all at Northam Farm...

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Scott, Mary. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Saturday morning aged 87. She was well liked by so many regular visitors who often recalled her cycling around the park as she collected site fees! And heaven help the Security Guard if he didn't advise her of any disturbance, no matter what time of night!

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Mike Scott and their two sons, David and Philip as well as all the staff of Northam Farm.

Please note... however, please also note that many are exempt from wearing face masks for various reasons, including but not limited to respiratory conditions, dementia, anxiety, autism. So, if you see someone not wearing one, please

With pubs and campsites beginning to open in the area here's an extract from our website on respecting the area;

Respect
Be sensitive to your impact on rural communities and landowners: give houses, farm buildings, vehicles and people a wide berth. Help foster good relationships with local communities for the future. Inconsiderate actions will be damaging for all of us.
Be aware that some car parks may not be open due to staff shortages (or it's full). Check if it’s feasible to access your planned destination before setting off.
Take care not to disturb wildlife which may have moved into unexpected areas during lockdown (MHAONB ed. especially ground nesting birds and adders): cliff-nesting birds are likely to be on new crags due to the lack of visitors.
Be self-reliant, both when climbing and walking and during any travel. Local businesses are likely to remain closed.

We would add for all users to EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. All of our public rights of way, visitor hot spots and mountain bike trails (official and unofficial) are being heavily used at the moment. Don’t be surprised to find someone around the next bend, or even a family group sitting in a shady spot on a trail. https://www.mendiphillsaonb.org.uk/exploring/special-qualities/

We would highly recommend staying somewhere that has undertaken this online training and can show they have produced a risk assessment.

We are pleased to confirm that we have successfully been confirmed as "We’re Good To Go" to our Industry Standard recognised by Visit England, ensuring we will keep you as safe as possible during your stay.

We have taken the decision to delete the post we shared by Woolacombe Bay due to some of the interaction between comments made.

The underlying message of the post was that Somerset is currently closed to tourists. End of any debate.

The people that have been seen travelling to second homes, with their caravans (such as the convoy that caused yesterday's accident), to a holiday destination are only delaying everyone's wish for life to return as we know it as soon as possible.

With common sense prevailing (though it is clearly apparent common sense isn't common), we may all get to go away on our holidays this year if people start abiding by the rules in place during the period of lockdown.

If they don't, we won't!

Stay Home. Protect The NHS. Save Lives. Thank you.

Coronavirus Update - 2020 Bookings

We very much hope our customers are staying safe and well during the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to the current Government advice regarding COVID-19, Reception is now closed therefore we are unable to contact everybody about upcoming bookings.

Existing Bookings: If you have a booking with us, please rest assured any money paid will be held in credit on your account. (Please do not pay any remaining balance until we know when we can re-open). Once Reception re-opens, you will be able to discuss your options with us, including holiday date changes to later this year or next year. As a result, we have decided to freeze holiday prices for 2021 - there will be no price increase for any touring, camping or caravan hire holidays 🙂

New Bookings: We have paused our booking system while Reception is closed, we're waiting for further guidance from the Government before resuming bookings.

If you have a seasonal or static caravan with us, we ask for your patience. Once we know how long the season will be shortened by, we will look into a goodwill gesture, in line with advice from The British Holiday & Home Parks Association, and other caravan parks and holiday centres in the UK.

Please look out for any further announcements on our website and page.

We unfortunately cannot answer phone calls or emails at this time, which is understandably frustrating for many of you, but the health of our Reception staff must be a priority.

We really appreciate your patience and support at this very sad time, and look forward to welcoming you back to Warren Farm for a happy holiday once the situation has passed and the Government advise it is safe to do so.

Please stay home. The Somerset Coast & Countryside will still be here. The Prime Minister has made it very clear our NHS will not be able to cope if we do not adhere to these measures.

Along with the rest of the country, we have been following the daily updates outlining the progression of coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Government advice in response to it.

We have also been liaising with other holiday parks around the country. The number of cases of coronavirus is set to rise with a spike expected in the coming weeks.

As a result we have taken the difficult and very sad decision to remain closed until further guidance is issued from Public Health England.

We understand this is a huge disappointment to everyone, but believe it is in the best interests of our customers, staff and the local community.

We have a responsibility to play our part in not encouraging the spread of this virus and not overloading the NHS in our area.

If you have a touring, camping or caravan hire holiday booked with us before the end of April, we will contact you over the next 7 days to discuss options for postponing or cancelling your holiday.

If your holiday is booked for May or beyond, please bear with us. We will be in touch as soon as we know more. Unfortunately at this time we do not know when we will be re-opening.

If you have a seasonal or static caravan with us, we ask for your patience. Once we know how long the season will be shortened by, we will liaise with other holidays parks in the UK and look into what can be done as a goodwill gesture for you.

During this unprecedented time the welfare of our customers, staff and local community is our utmost priority.

As a family business we appreciate your patience and support at this very difficult time. Please stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you at Warren Farm Holiday Centre in the future.
