Oreti Lake is located in the Tusheti Protected Areas, at an altitude of 2,650 meters above sea level, approximately 6 km from the village of Kumelaurta.

The lake is fed by small streams. Its water flows out from the bottom, but because the lake is very cold and deep, the exact location of the outlet is unknown.
