Armenia and Georgia have been selected to host the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup โ a historic moment for football in the region. The decision was announced during a FIFA Executive Committee meeting held in Vancouver, Canada, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. This will be the first time that a major FIFA tournament of this scale is organized jointly by Armenia and Georgia.
The tournament is one of the most important international competitions for young football players, bringing together the best national teams under the age of 20 from around the world. Hosting such an event places both countries on the global football map and is expected to bring attention not only to their sports development but also to their infrastructure and ability to organize large international events.
