Pockets of Sunlight, Fresh Air, Fresh Bakes?
Dear Lola Cafe, I will be back, and I might become a regular. There’s something about this well-thought-out cozy cafe; not only does it offer an oasis of plants, but it also gives you room to sigh and reflect. I passed by for a morning coffee the other day, before tackling my long to-do list. I was able to take my time and enjoy my coffee, write a few paragraphs, and edit an overdue essay. Time paused for a bit in a great way. And I’m now eyeing a few other items on the menu for my next visit. It’s a space that asks you to take a breath, maybe put the phone away for a bit, and enjoy your meal.

Tucked in the Ako-Adjei area of Osu, Dear Lola is a spot to check out for a light bite, a cozy first date.
I know I’ll be back.

The ramen at Manpuku.gh is hearty, delicious and definitely worth you passing by for. And I’m glad I passed by when a friend reminded me of this spot the other day. I had their spicy chicken ramen which was full of goodness. You can taste a full layered profile - a rich umami filled broth with tender chicken and the subtle heat of the spices, the noodles were al dente and chewy (just how I like them). And the extra cabbage, I asked for in my ramen provided a chewy crunch.

The beauty of a good ramen bowl is the marriage of a solid foundation broth, the noodles and richness of the fats and fresh aromatics & variety of the toppings and Manpuku has achieved this.

The pork rice mini reminded me that good things sometimes come in small packages.Tender well infused pork cutlets glazed in their secret sauce, was a perfect appetizer before the ramen bowl. Overall a filling meal for late lunch. I’m definitely going back to try a few things on their menu.

The thing is I’ve been sitting on the Accra Local(e) for some time now, but I’ve finally decided to go for it.

I usually like to be on the other side of the camera, working behind the scenes, though I’m not an introvert, I appreciate the peace of mind of a private life away from the limelight. “So how is this going to work?” – my cousin asked. Folks will need to have some interaction with you, after all, it's Accra through your unique lens, she added. You’re going to be center stage.
So I’ve decided a healthy balance will do the trick. 

Great service, delicious food, and other things will be factored in when I write about places. Will anonymity mean I’m getting a standard service without any special treatment? Should the wait for appetizers or beverage service take 20 mins or way too long, it might mean extra housekeeping is needed. I’ll mention it in my review. Beyond the prerequisite of tasty food & good service are you going the extra mile as an establishment or business?
