Valley View University Partners with the Democratic Republic of Congo Government to Enroll Students Annually.

In a landmark collaboration aimed at advancing higher education opportunities, Valley View University (VVU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, represented by the country’s embassy in Ghana. The agreement, signed on Friday, 29 September 2024, solidifies a commitment to enrol Congolese nationals at the university annually.


At the signing ceremony, held at the University’s main campus in Oyibi, Accra, Vice-Chancellor Professor William Koomson and the DR Congo Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency, Jeannette Nyakeru Njuma reaffirmed their dedication to expanding higher educational access for DR Congo students. Professor Koomson highlighted the importance of this partnership in promoting internationalization at VVU and fostering cross-cultural academic exchange. He emphasized that the agreement marked a significant step in the University’s mission to provide world-class education to students from across Africa. “We are proud to welcome DR Congo students to our campus and look forward to supporting their academic and professional growth”, he added.

The MoU aligns with the university’s strategic goals of enhancing global partnerships and contributing to the educational development of the African continent. The first cohort of students is expected to begin their studies soon, with Agriculture and Agri-business programs ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate levels across various disciplines.

Her Excellency, Jeannette Nyakeru Njuma expressed her gratitude for the collaboration, stating that the partnership would greatly benefit DR Congo students, providing them with access to quality education and opportunities for personal and national development.
VVU looks forward to a fruitful and enduring relationship with the DR Congo government as both parties work together to shape the future of education in Africa.
