☕❤️ TALES FROM MY BALCONY
Saturday mornings in the Bronx always come with surprises, but this one deserves a place in the Hall of Fame.
Back when I lived on the 19th floor, I had the perfect view of the parking lot below. That morning, I looked down and saw my car exactly where I had left it. Perfect. So I grabbed my things, headed downstairs, and prepared for a normal start to my day.
Well... life had other plans.
As I approached my car, I noticed another vehicle parked so close beside it that moving mine would be impossible.
No problem, I thought.
I dropped my bags into my car and calmly walked over to investigate.
That's when I discovered the reason for the mysterious parking job.
Inside the car were two young lovebirds, fast asleep.
The gentleman was completely knocked out.
The lady, however, woke up after a gentle tap on the passenger window.
I smiled and politely explained my mission:
"Good morning. I'd love to get my car out and start my day."
She immediately apologized and began trying to wake her boyfriend.
And thus began one of the most entertaining 5 minutes of my life.
She called his name.
Nothing.
She nudged him.
Nothing.
She called again.
Still nothing.
At this point, I was no longer in a hurry. I had become an audience member.
For what felt like forever, she called and called while Romeo continued his championship-level sleep.
After about three minutes, I offered to help.
She laughed and agreed.
So there we were—two complete strangers united by a common mission:
Wake. Up. Sleeping Beauty.
We called.
We nudged.
We called some more.
Nothing.
Five minutes had passed. I was technically late, but honestly, I was enjoying the show.
Then...
A movement.
A twitch.
An eyelid.
Ladies and gentlemen...
HE WAS ALIVE.
Finally, our sleeping prince opened his eyes.
Victory!
Or so I thought.
Because before moving the car...
Before starting the engine...
Before acknowledging the growing line of people waiting...
These two lovebirds looked at each other...
Smiled...
And shared the deepest, most heartfelt kiss imaginable.
Right there in the parking lot.
Like they were starring in the final scene of a romantic comedy.
I couldn't even be mad.
I just stood there laughing.
Eventually, they moved the car, I got on with my day, and they got on with whatever fairy tale they were living.
And honestly?
It was the sweetest reason I've ever been delayed.
Some people start Saturday mornings with coffee.
Others start with romance.
These two started with both.
😂❤️
What's the funniest thing that's ever made you late?
