For the culture: Kente refers to a Ghanaian textile made of hand-woven strips of silk and cotton. Historically the fabric was worn in a toga-like fashion among the Asante, Akan and Ewe people. According to Asante oral tradition, it originated from Bonwire in the Ashanti Region of Ghana

The cloth was worn by Kings, Queens, and important figures of state in Ghana's society during ceremonial events and special occasions. Each Ashanti king would create a new Kente design after close consultation with master weavers during his reign.

The Adowa dance is a traditional dance of the Akan people, particularly the Ashanti and Akan ethnic groups in Ghana. It is often performed at funerals, festivals, and other significant cultural events. The dance is known for its graceful and expressive movements, which are often meant to convey messages and emotions. Dancers use their hands, feet, and body to tell stories, while the accompanying music is played on traditional instruments like drums and bells. The Adowa dance is an important part of Ghanaian culture and heritage.

I have never felt this happy and free in my entire life. I never knew a place like this existed. The people here are friendly and welcoming; they don’t show us how beautiful Ghana is Back home, all we see on TV are kids in poor communities, war, and poverty. Everyone needs to travel and see how beautiful Africa truly is ~ Paypah
