President Mahama Launches SheaPark Resource Hub in Wa!
On 31st January 2026, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, together with Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, unveiled the SheaPark Resource Hub at the Wa Naa Palace in the Upper West Region.
The SheaPark Resource Hub is a flagship initiative designed to transform the shea industry through industrialisation, value addition, and export-driven growth. By positioning the Upper West Region as a hub for agro-industrial innovation, it aims to revive local economies, empower communities, and contribute to Ghana’s broader transformation agenda.
Rt. Hon. Bagbin described the launch as a “royal honour and blessing,” highlighting its potential to drive inclusive, sustainable development for both the region and the nation.
This milestone aligns with Ghana’s vision of building a self-reliant, globally competitive economy, and marks a new chapter of opportunity for the people of Wa, the Upper West, and beyond.
