The Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival introduces a fusion of writers in English, Spanish and Arabic. Reflecting Gibraltarโ€™s long cultural history between Europe, Africa, The Mediterranean and The Atlantic. DAY 7 - Afternoon Highlights โœจ

๐Ÿ’” Louisa Treger Author captivated the audience with her presentation of The Paris Muse. In conversation with Sophie Clifton Tucker, she unraveled the compelling and complex life of Dora Maar, celebrated muse of Picasso, and reflected on Maarโ€™s profound influence and legacy.

๐Ÿ’ฅ At the City Hall, the legendary creator of 2000AD & much more, Pat Mills, took the stage to discuss Page Turners. He shared his fascinating journey through the world of comics and storytelling, offering valuable insights into crafting iconic, thought-provoking narratives that have enthralled readers for decades.

๐Ÿ“š Day 6 - Recap of the Day ๐Ÿ“š

Day 6 of the Gibraltar Literary Festival was full of incredible insights and captivating conversations!

The festival continued with an exciting lineup of local and international authors, beginning with Sarah Burton and Jem Posterโ€™s morning workshop on short story writing, based on their book The Book You Need to Read to Write the Book You Want to Write.Guillem Balaguรฉ shared behind-the-scenes stories from his updated biographies of football legends Messi and Ronaldo, while at City Hall, Paterson Joseph gave a brilliant talk on The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho.

We also had a thought-provoking panel discussion about Llanito, Gibraltarโ€™s unique language, featuring experts like Dr. Ryan Asquez, Dr. Laura Wright, Dr. Jonathan Teuma, and more.Paul Pettitt guided us through Neanderthal behavior and the origins of art, and Marlene Watson and Bill Tara shared their passion for plant-based living over an exclusive 3-course vegan meal experience.

The afternoon sessions at the historic Garrison Library were equally inspiring. Manni and Reuben Coe moved the audience with their heartfelt discussion of Brother, Do You Love Me?, exploring themes of love and brotherhood.

Bryony Gordon opened up about her mental health journey in Mad Woman, using humor and honesty to help others feel seen.

Over at City Hall, Sir Liam Fox discussed The Coming Storm, highlighting the critical role of water in the 21st century, followed by Keith Giles, who explored the challenges Europe faces with a resurgent Russia in Who Will Defend Europe?

This afternoon at the Gibraltar Literary Festival, we were back at the historic Garrison Library for an inspiring talk from Manni and Reuben Coe about their powerful book Brother, Do You Love Me? - a heartfelt exploration of brotherhood and love.
We were also fortunate to sit down with Bryony Gordon, who shared her personal journey in Mad Woman, showing how humour and honesty can help others facing similar mental health struggles.

Meanwhile, at City Hall, we had the privilege of hearing from Sir Liam Fox on his timely book The Coming Storm: How Water Will Write the 21st Century, exploring the critical role of water in global security, climate change, and human health.
Following that, Keith Giles gave an insightful talk on Who Will Defend Europe?,delving into the challenges Europe faces with an awakened Russia and a sleeping continent.

The Festival continues this weekend with an exciting lineup of local and international authors.

We started the morning with Sarah Burton and Jem Poster, authors of *The Book You Need to Read to Write the Book You Want to Write*, leading a workshop on short story writing.

Guillem Balaguรฉ discussed his updated biographies of football legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, sharing fascinating behind-the-scenes stories from his years of interviews.

At City Hall, Paterson Joseph gave a brilliant talk on his book, *The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho*.

A panel discussion also explored Llanito, Gibraltarโ€™s unique language, with experts like Dr. Ryan Asquez, Dr. Laura Wright, Dr. Jonathan Teuma, Manuel Enriles, and Sophie Macdonald, reflecting on its linguistic properties, decline, and challenges of writing in it.

Paul Pettitt, a leading expert in Palaeolithic archaeology, took us on a journey through Neanderthal behavior, the origins of art, and ancient burial practices.

Finally, Marlene Watson and Bill Tara presented an exclusive 3-course vegan meal experience, sharing their passion for plant-based living and sustainability
