Our rivers also offer other species of fishes such as Giant Barramundi, Saratoga, Spotted tail bass, Mangrove jacks, Nuigini tiger fish, Thread-fin and the infamous Queensland grouper

New IGFA All Tackle Length Record for PNG Black Bass Approved! 🇵🇬

Some records don’t fall easy, they wait. Out on the Papuan coast, where every mistake gets punished, everything had to line up. Tide, timing, instinct… and still, nothing’s guaranteed.

For Kazuhiro Uyama, this was unfinished business. Fourteen years after setting his own personal best, he came back for one more shot.

When it ate, it’s brutal. No warning. Just that heavy hit Black Bass are known for. Gear pushed, knots tested… but nothing failed.

A confirmed 97 cm. Locked in.

THREE IGFA record holders on our Papuan Coast Expedition to wrap our Black Bass Season for the year!

SFPNG had esteemed gold class anglers: Kazuhiro Uyama and Jeremiah Micheal, both IGFA record holders under their belt. Kazz with his former 50 lbs -class Black Bass record, and Jeremiah rocking the current all-tackle Spot-Tail Bass world record. Together with our own Jason Yip — a former IGFA all-tackle world record holder for Papuan Black Bass himself...until it got broken by his own client! 😅

As if the river beasts knew these 3 were on the other end with their combined 70 years of experience....they brought out their finest show. Testing perseverence, reflexes and grit!
