Ψηλά πάνω από την Παροικιά της Πάρου, σχεδόν στην κορυφή του βουνού, κρύβεται ένα από τα καλά φυλαγμένα μυστικά του νησιού. Ένα μέρος που θυμίζει την Πάρο όπως ήταν πριν από μερικές δεκαετίες, πριν η μαζική τουριστική ανάπτυξη αλλάξει την εικόνα της. Η Μονή Αγίων Αναργύρων ιδρύθηκε τον 17ο αιώνα, πάνω σε παλαιότερα κτίσματα. Σήμερα είναι κηρυγμένο διατηρητέο μνημείο και ξεχωρίζει για την αυθεντική κυκλαδίτικη αρχιτεκτονική, αλλά και την όμορφη, περιποιημένη αυλή της, γεμάτη λουλούδια.

Εκτός από την απόλυτη ησυχία και την κατανυκτική ατμόσφαιρα, αυτό που μένει αξέχαστο είναι η μοναδική θέα προς τον κόλπο της Παροικιάς. Έλα στη μονή το απόγευμα και απόλαυσε από εδώ ένα από τα πιο όμορφα ηλιοβασιλέματα στις Κυκλάδες.

Στην κοσμοπολίτικη πλέον Αντίπαρο, που επισκεφθήκαμε φέτος, μας περίμενε μια αναπάντεχη και πραγματικά ευχάριστη γαστρονομική έκπληξη. Καθώς ψάχναμε ένα μέρος για κάτι γρήγορο, ο δρόμος μάς οδήγησε τυχαία λίγο έξω από το κεντρικό καλντερίμι, σε ένα μαγαζί που δεν υπάρχει καν στο Google Maps! Εκεί ανακαλύψαμε το σουβλατζίδικο του Μάριου και δοκιμάσαμε όχι απλώς τον καλύτερο γύρο της Αντιπάρου ή της Πάρου, αλλά έναν από τους καλύτερους γύρους που έχουμε φάει σε ολόκληρη την Ελλάδα. Κάτι μου λέει ότι ίσως μετανιώσω που κάνω αυτή την ανάρτηση, γιατί σύντομα θα το ανακαλύψουν πολύ περισσότεροι. Από την άλλη όμως, τέτοια μικρά, αυθεντικά διαμάντια αξίζουν κάθε προβολή.

On cosmopolitan Antiparos, which we visited this year, we stumbled upon an unexpected and genuinely delightful gastronomic surprise.  We were simply looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite when we happened to wander slightly away from the main cobbled street and came across a small souvlaki shop that isn’t even listed on Google Maps! That’s how we discovered Marios’ souvlaki shop, where we tried not only what we think is the best gyros in Antiparos and Paros, but one of the best we’ve ever tasted anywhere in Greece. Something tells me I might regret sharing this post, because before long, many more people will discover this hidden gem! But then again, places like this deserve every bit of attention they can get. And Marios certainly deserves the recognition.
