Hotel highlight: Oberoi Rajvilas - Jaipur, India 🇮🇳

We spent two nights at this amazing hotel. Located a short drive outside the city of Jaipur, it’s a 32-acre haven of solitude and relaxation. The architecture is inspired a traditional Rajasthani fort.

The swimming pool and outdoor area is just outside the spa and fitness center. They have local artisans on property every day showcasing their unique arts and allowing guests to participate.

All guest rooms are well-appointed with everything needed to make your stay comfortable. They pay attention to the details - including a small velcro strap to keep my phone charging cord wrapped in place! Options range from a luxury room to suites to tented villas.

There are over 200 peacocks who live at the resort. They add to the ambiance of the resort’s location.

The food service is impeccable. From breakfast to dinner, they offer something for everyone at one of the three dining venues.

Hotel highlight: Roseate House, Aerocity, New Delhi 🇮🇳

My first night in India was spent at the Roseate House. What a lovely hotel!! I was greeted with warmth and smiles and flowers.

After a good night’s sleep, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. (I thought I took more photos, but I can’t find them now.)

If you’re ever needing a room close to the New Delhi airport, give the Roseate House a try. You will be glad that you did! They have a pool, fitness center, spa, and restaurant that will meet all your needs.

New Delhi to Agra, India 🇮🇳

I arrived to New Delhi at night, so I stayed at the Roseate Hotel near the airport. The next morning, a driver took me to Agra to meet my travel group. The 3.5 hour drive passed by quickly.

Once in Agra, we hit the ground running. Lots of new things to see and experience on this trip!

I had the privilege of sharing a snippet of what I do with an event planning class at the University of Tennessee today. They are being prepared to keep the planning going when my generation is too tired to keep up! 😁 I reminded them that the internet didn’t exist when I started, so who knows what they will be doing in 30 years!

When you wake up to an email saying your flight is canceled, you make lemonade out of lemons! (And you see lots of lemon trees throughout the day.)

American Airlines cancelled the afternoon flight, so we had to stay an extra night in Athens. We could not get to the airport for the morning flight.

We wandered around the city with no agenda, discovering new sights (and smells) along the way.

It was a fun, spontaneous day of with while making the most of the schedule change.

Ancient Olympia, Greece 🇬🇷

The ship pulled into Katakolo, Greece. We journeyed to Foloi Oak Forest for a morning hike before heading to Ancient Olympia. The oak forest is the only one in Greece and the Balkans as well as one of the largest in all of Europe.

Our bus was the last back to the ship. It was a short port day as we sailed away in early afternoon.

Corfu, Greece 🇬🇷

We visited Achilleion, the retreat Empress Elisabeth of Austria built in 1889-1891 after the sudden death of her son. We could only see the gardens due to ongoing renovations inside the palace.

We also walked around Corfu plus explored the Old Fortress. The views are beautiful on this Greek island in the Ionian Sea.
