In August you cross the Tombs of the Kings at 35 degrees, between the coaches. In October you have the carved stone, the sea behind it and the shade to yourself — and the Roman mosaics in the Archaeological Park in the soft light they were made for.

The water at Coral Bay is still 25°. The harbour tavernas are back at their own pace. And rates are well below peak season.
