🗣 Talking art since 2013 From contemporary galleries and museums to artist studios, street art, workshops, and design spaces—our private tours reveal the vibrant and ever-evolving art scene of one of the

world’s most fascinating cities. Founded by art writer and guide Shani Werner, Athens Art Tours is the fresh new sibling of “Talking Art,” a project born in 2013 with a mission to make contemporary art more accessible and meaningful. We believe that understanding art is also a way to understand the place and culture in which it was created. Our tours focus on art, architecture, and urban culture, and are led by a diverse team of passionate professionals: art critics, curators, architects, and street artists. Each tour is a personal journey through Athens, where classical heritage and modern creativity meet in a rich, ongoing dialogue. Whether you're an art lover, a curious traveler, or a cultural explorer—if you're moved by art, you're in the right place.

Two Benaki museums.
One easy art day in Athens.

Benaki Mentis and Benaki Pireos are only a few minutes apart, but they offer two completely different museum experiences.

One is all about craft, threads, ribbons and handmade tradition.
The other opens into contemporary exhibitions, photography and large-scale spaces.

If you’re planning an art day in Athens, save this route.

Part 4/4 of our Benaki series takes us to the Ghika Gallery, one of the most intimate spaces in the Benaki world.

Set in the former home and studio of artist Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika, this museum opens a window into modern Greek art, friendship, collecting and creative life in 20th-century Athens.

A different kind of museum visit, personal, layered and full of stories.

For us this is Greek summer. The beaches, the light, the family and friends, children’s laughter☀️ What a fun exhibition!

“Θeros” by Tania Dimitrakopoulou at Skoufa Gallery is a celebration of summer, memory, color and emotion. Through her paintings, Dimitrakopoulou captures moments that feel familiar; quiet scenes, Mediterranean light, and the poetry of everyday life.
A wonderful stop in Athens for anyone who loves art, beauty and those small
moments that make summer unforgettable.

⏳ These are the last days to see it, until June 30.

The Avant-Garde World: City, Nature, Universe, Human is one of the most fascinating exhibitions currently on view in Athens. Presented at the National Gallery in collaboration with MOMus and the renowned Costakis Collection, the exhibition marks 30 years since the collection was first shown to the Greek public. Bringing together around 280 works and archival materials, it offers a fresh look at the Russian avant-garde and its radical vision of a new world.
Organized around four themes- City, Nature, Universe, and Human

The exhibition explores how artists of the early 20th century reimagined everyday life, technology, society, and even the cosmos.

From Constructivism and Suprematism to experimental design and utopian thinking, the show reveals the extraordinary ambition of an artistic movement that sought to transform reality itself.

📍 National Gallery, Athens
📅 Until September 27, 2026

Part 3/4 of our Benaki series takes us to Benaki Pireos, the museum’s contemporary exhibition space.

With its large halls, open courtyard and changing exhibitions, this is the Benaki that feels more spacious, current and urban.

A very different Benaki mood.

Step into a world where myth and imagination intertwine.

Dancing with Serpents, the new solo exhibition by Luke Edward Hall at The Breeder, brings together mythology, folklore, and memory in a series of vibrant paintings. Moving between dreamlike landscapes and familiar scenes, Hall blurs the line between the everyday and the mythical, creating a world full of wonder and intrigue.

📍 On view until June 16, 2026.
