📍Private tours | Contemporary focus
🗣 Talking art since 2013 From contemporary galleries and museums to artist studios, street art, workshops, and design spaces—our private tours reveal the vibrant and ever-evolving art scene of one of the

world’s most fascinating cities. Founded by art writer and guide Shani Werner, Athens Art Tours is the fresh new sibling of “Talking Art,” a project born in 2013 with a mission to make contemporary art more accessible and meaningful. We believe that understanding art is also a way to understand the place and culture in which it was created. Our tours focus on art, architecture, and urban culture, and are led by a diverse team of passionate professionals: art critics, curators, architects, and street artists. Each tour is a personal journey through Athens, where classical heritage and modern creativity meet in a rich, ongoing dialogue. Whether you're an art lover, a curious traveler, or a cultural explorer—if you're moved by art, you're in the right place.

ART RECOMMENDATION🧐by AAT team
EMST’s retrospective exhibitions offer a rare look into key Greek artists and their place within a wider international context — and right now is the perfect moment to experience it.
Three new solo exhibitions have just opened: Jani Christou: Enantiodromia, Niki Kanagini: Ode to Things, and Stathis Logothetis: From Earth to Earth.

These are the final days to see the major exhibition Why Look at Animals? — a powerful, large-scale show that’s about to close.
If you’re planning a visit, it’s worth combining both: the retrospectives alongside this landmark exhibition, before it’s gone.

Art recommendation ✨

Giorgos Tserionis presents What Happens AFTER at the Athens City Gallery
A large-scale solo exhibition that takes over the gallery space, exploring the idea of homo urbanus, the urban human living within the layered reality of the metropolis 🧐
Through sculpture and installation, Tserionis transforms fragments and remnants of the city into powerful, immersive works that reflect both the light and darker sides of urban life. The result is a visually striking and thought-provoking exhibition
On view until May 10, 2026

Spring is truly here - and in its honor:
Our favorite piece at the National Gallery.

This beautiful painting, Girl at the Window by Georgios Avlichos (1877), captures the spirit of a pivotal moment in Greek history. As Greece began to establish itself following liberation from Ottoman rule and with the arrival of modernity, a new bourgeois class emerged - one that embraced a different way of life.
A life that was freer, more hopeful, and full of possibility.
There’s something in this quiet, intimate scene that reflects exactly that - a sense of openness, of looking outward, of change already in motion.

And honestly, there’s no better time to experience it all - spring is the most beautiful season in Athens, and the perfect time to wander, discover, and fall in love with the city all over again.
