Anna Aperghi Travel & Tourism, a Corfu based family business, organizing walking holidays on the long distance footpath the Corfu Trail as well as group trips and Incentive trips on the island. The Corfu Trail was established in 2001 as a long distance footpath running from the very South of the island to its northernmost tip. The total distance is approximately 190 km crossing beaches, forest tr

acks, gravel roads, villages and old cobbled footpaths. The Corfu Trail is especially renowned for its incredible views, surprising walkers every single day. We've divided the total distance over 11 walking days of 12 to 23 km each, and organise self-guided walking holidays with accommodation and luggage transfers along the Corfu Trail. As a trek, walking holidays on the Corfu Trail are bookable from April until the end of June and in September and October. During the off season months from November until April, weather can be very good for walking with lower temperatures, but accommodation and restaurants in most locations are closed during this time of the year. During this time of the year we organise walking holidays with accommodation in Corfu Town with transfers back and forth to the walks. Except for self-guided programmes, we also organise a few group trips. Besides the Corfu Trail programme, we have put together a trip discovering the South of the island at the end of the season. Here a few walks on the Corfu Trail are combined with other footpaths and villages, and some time for sightseeing in Corfu Town. Another option is to join our walking trip in July, which is combining the best of the Corfu Trail with the Pindos Mountains in Mainland Greece. This wonderful journey with tough but beautiful hikes takes you to the lesser visited part of the Zagorochoria in the Pindos Mountains

Today is Καθαρά Δευτέρα (Clean Monday), first day of Lent, which marks the end of Carnaval and traditionally the start of the fasting period towards Orthodox Easter.

Often celebrated with outdoor picknicks enjoying traditional delicacies like ταραμοσαλάτα (fish roe salad), χαλβάς (halva) and the typical λαγάνα flat bread.

Rainy days like today always remind me of a lovely walking trip of a group organized by Meidan Vishinsky we had the pleasure to carry out in October 2021.

We got (very) wet a few times, but the group enjoyed it much more than they would have expected reading the weather forecast :) I will never forget the colourful dots (ponchos!) going up the footpath and on the Karst plateau of Pantokrator Mountain!

And yes, once in a while the sun made it's appearance!

Spring is a very colorful happening in Corfu!
Even now already, some orchids are flowering and the hills start taking on various shades of green. Especially the beginning of May is beautiful time to walk the Corfu Trail. Would you like to experience this for yourself?

Are you making plans for the New Year?

Join our Corfu Trail guided group tour in Spring, with guaranteed departure on April 10th! The whole Corfu Trail trip is 2 weeks, but you can also join for a shorter time. Group is small sized and led by our enthusiastic guide Spiros. You walk between 12 and 23 km a day and stay overnight in small, family run pensions and hotels in villages along the Corfu Trail. There is always some good food nearby.

In April the island is still calm and as green as it ever gets!
