`Tsiknopempti' - Smoky Thursday.
The three weeks of Carnival are called Profoní (Announcement Week), Κreatiní (Meat Week), and Tyriní (Cheese Week), which is also called Tyrofágou (Cheese-eating Week). The Κreatiní week ends with Apókreo Sunday (No-meat Sunday) because from the following day, we abstain from eating meat. During the week of Tyrofágou, we eat dairy products as an intermediate step between eating meat and the fasting that will follow in the next period, the Lent.
We are on the second week of the Carnival right now, and on Thursday we celebrate the popular 'Tsiknopemti', means "grill-smoky Thursday". Every year on this day, the outdoor grills set up by the locals throughout the country waft the smoke of the smell of meat, which fills the air. In households, taverns, cafés, and restaurants, according to tradition, meats prepared in a variety of ways are grilled.
Petegoletsa: This is a street theater played on a smoky Thursday evening - a comedy with funny gossips, accompanied by music, which is performed in the Corfu dialect on the streets, squares and balconies of the city.
🇭🇺 Tsiknopempti” – Füstös csütörtök.
A karnevál három hetét Profoní-nak (Bejelentés-hét), Κreatiní-nak (húshétnek) és Tyriní-nek (sajthétnek) hívják, amelyet Tyrofágou-nak (sajtevés-hét) is neveznek. A Κreatiní hét az Apókreo vasárnappal (húsmentes vasárnap) zárul, mert a következő naptól az ortodox keresztények tartózkodunk a húsevéstől.
Jelenleg a karnevál második hetében tartunk, csütörtökön pedig a népszerű „Tsiknopemti”-t, azaz „grillfüstös csütörtököt” ünnepeljük. Minden évben ezen a napon a helyiek által országszerte felállított kültéri grillsütők lebbentik a hússzag füstjét, ami betölti a levegőt. A háztartásokban, tavernákban, kávézókban, éttermekben a hagyományoknak megfelelően sokféleképpen elkészített húsokat grill*znek.
Petegoletsa: Füstös csütörtök estéjén játszott utcaszínház - ez egy zenével kísért vígjáték, amelyet korfui dialektusban adnak elő a város utcáin, terein és erkélyein. :)
