Ascuns în inima munților, la aproximativ 450 m altitudine, Kastro este unul dintre cele mai vechi și misterioase sate din Thassos. Numele lui înseamnă „castel”, iar locul păstrează și azi atmosfera unei așezări medievale, ferite cândva de atacurile piraților.
