How to save money on your holiday!
Booking a holiday can be exciting but also can be a worry. Have you ever looked through the glossy holiday brochures or looked on line at holiday destinations, you think wow that's a great price and then you come to the end of the booking and the price has doubled! I have and I gave up booking a holiday. You will find the advertised price for your flight does not always include you baggage. With one airline that I recently travelled with they made money from me over the baggage allowance. I had already paid for 2 suitcases and then had a small holdall to take into the cabin. The bag only just did not fit into their bag sizer. I was under weight on my cases and they then charged me another £44. Looking at the bag measurement that they have at the airport I would say this has certainly got smaller than it use to be. The airlines are very greedy and I believe they are over charging. So a word of advice is to bring less luggage and if you can just bring a cabin bag or a small case. On the Island there are laundrettes. However, if you stay at Richmond villa we have a washing machine for our guest to use so they can cut back on their luggage.
Package holidays can look cheaper but if you compare with booking direct you will see you actually can get more for your money. So you might have decided to go with the all inclusive holidays where you can eat and drink as much as you like. But I have experienced an all inclusive holiday and I would not go on one again. I want to eat when i want to eat and I do not want to line up to eat, That's when we started to rent villas for our holidays. Most people have one holiday a year and have to work hard to save for that holiday. So you deserve to have a bit of luxury when you are on holiday.
So how can you save money when booking a holiday? To start with you need to decide what you want from your holiday. Do you want a hotel where you just have a room and a bathroom with maybe a very small kitchen or do you want a home from home? Renting a villa gives you space, option to eat in or out, separate bedrooms and flexibility.
Why rent Richmond villa and how can this be value for money? To start with our villa is a whole house and not just a room. The villa has its own pool and sunbathing area. So you do not have to worry about not getting a sun lounger . Our sun loungers are foldable so we allow our guest to take them to the beach. So you will be saving quite a lot of money if you like to go to the beaches a lot whilst you are on holiday. We also have ice blocks and a cool bag so that our guest can take a packed lunch when they are out exploring the island. We supply inflatables for the pool so there is another saving. We try to be flexible on our arrivals and departure times. We will allow our guest to arrive early or leave late if we do not have guest crossing over on the day. We do not charge for this.
What else will yuo find at Richmond villa apart from a beautiful garden and a gated private entrance? We have a BBQ , swing ball for the children, Air Hockey table, sun loungers, Veranda, balcony, inside and outside eating areas, swimming pool, games for the children and adults, books to read, drawing materials for the children, satellite tv, WIFI, DVD player for English films, Juke box, stereo, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen including an oven, hob, air fryer, coffee machine, freezer, picnic plates, cups and Knife and forks.
We ensure that the guest have a free welcome pack when they arrive. We supply English Tea bags, coffee, sugar, milk, a bottle of wine, bread, cereal, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls. So there is another saving. The water from the tap is ok to drink and therefore you do not need to buy bottled water.
Booking direct with Richmond villa, we advertise with Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo .They all charge us for the bookings and take their commission which is around £400 a booking and sometimes more. But when you book direct the price I quote is the final price and no hidden extras. As we do not have to pay commission when guest book direct we have a lower price on our website to what is charged on the booking sites. There is yet another saving. The price on our website is charged for the villa and not the amount of people staying. The villa can sleep 6 and we also have a cot and folding bed. In the villa we have 2 bedrooms, main bedroom has a king size bed and the second room has 2 large single beds. In the lounge we have a sofa bed which is easy to assemble.
If you was to add all these savings up you would see that it is better value for money when booking Richmond villa.
People booking direct might be worried when booking direct due to concerns of being scammed. The on line booking sites have checked us out and we have given evidence that the villa is where we say it is. I know too well about being scammed as it has happened to me. We even get scams for people telling us our website is not working and for a fee they will fix it. I never allow anyone access to our website apart from a trusted website person. We also meet all our guest on arrival and we do not have a problem with people arriving late a night. We live in Kefalonia and do not use any external staff. I clean the villa and my husband maintains the gardens and the pool. We do not charge extra for cleaning the villa it is all in the price.
