Phases of the Vineyard: Dormancy

Daylight has reduced, the temperature has dropped, and the leaves of the trees have fallen, creating a satisfying crunch when walk over them; It’s clear nature has come to it’s phase of Dormancy.

By definition, "dormancy" has its roots in the Latin word "dormire," which means "to sleep."

The dormancy phase in a vineyard is the period when grapevines enter a state of rest or inactivity, typically during the winter months. This phase is crucial for the overall health and development of the grapevines, and it plays a significant role in the annual growth cycle of the vineyard.

Therefore, we may draw inspiration from the vineyard, by taking our time to breathe, enjoy a fine glass of red wine, enjoy a nice book, and trace your path towards your heart’s will.

What makes the Olive Tree, and specifically Olive Oil, so special?

At first glance, we may all focus on its nutritional value, which sets it apart among numerous foods (and specifically superfoods ;)), but the greatest value the Olive Tree, and specifically Olive Oil, has offered us single-handedly is what it symbolizes. For thousands of years and many generations, it has provoked emotions, serving as the reason we share life lessons, bringing forth waves of art in poetry, and the list goes on. It symbolizes something higher than a tree or a culinary staple; it symbolizes the core of who we are.
