Anyone who sails the Aegean knows: the Meltemi wind is always there in summer.
But one day… everything stopped.
No waves. No wind. Just silence.
The sea became a mirror, and time seemed to slow down.

On board, there was an 80-year-old woman, traveling alone.
She looked at the horizon and whispered:
“This is the gift I’ve waited for all my life —
the sea, finally still.”

Today, the wind arrived before I did.

I’ve been doing this for over ten years now.
And yet, every morning feels like the first.

A marriage proposal in the middle of nowhere. 💍⛵
A day I will never forget! 🌞💫
It was a calm day, clear skies and the right wind for a smooth sailing between Paros and the small Cyclades. On board, a young American couple, reserved but visibly excited. He was restless 😬, she was silent 🤫, as if she were waiting for something.
At midday, as the boat was ploughing through a stretch of crystalline sea 🌊 between Naxos and Koufonissi, he approached me and asked in a low voice:
“Can you take us to a quiet bay, far away from everything?” 🌿
I understood that something special was coming 💡.
Still in a corner of paradise, surrounded only by turquoise water, sky and silence. 🏝️💙
He kneels down, takes out a ring.
She cries. 😢
She says yes. 💞
Spontaneous applause erupts on board 👏.
Even the sea seemed to applaud, with light waves caressing the hull 🌊⛵.
That day I realized that, as a skipper, I don't just transport people.
I help create memories that last forever. 🧭✨
This is what sailing for thirty years between the Cyclades islands means to me:
real emotions ❤️, unique moments 🌅, and stories that the wind takes away... but that remain in the heart. 💨💖
