Please allow me to share my personal weight loss journey 🙏🏽

When I came back from St. Thomas 2nd July, I had a whopping 173 lbs😢😤. Not only did I feel like i was suffocating internally, I felt lazy, listless, and miserable. More than loosing the weight, I wanted to get healthier, to feel healthier. I really disliked some of my pictures because I SAW the weight.

As I get older, I continue to struggle with my weight, and I keep failing to bring it down because I kept failing with my diets of choice (which was basically everything I could think of). I'm not a sweets person (I always drink tea without milk and sugar, I eat chocolate like 3 times a year, etc.) so I couldn't understand what was the problem with these stubborn belly and everywhere fat.

What I never tried was intermittent fasting, portion control and fixing my gut health. Gut health is one of the major factors for us not loosing weight.

15th August 2025, I'm proud to announce that not only have I lost 23 lbs, but I also learnt how to become more disciplined and not give into cravings when they arise. My journey now begins, because keeping it off will be even harder.

Wish me luck 🙏🏽 stepping into 41 in a few months and I have 10 more lbs to lose to achieve my dream weight. This is what happiness looks like.

Jenman House: A Botanical Gardens Landmark

The building at the main entrance of the Georgetown Botanical Gardens, known as Jenman House, has a rich history! Erected in 1881, it was originally designed by Mr. Brummell to serve as a gatekeeper's lodge and a boardroom for the garden's directors.

The most notable feature is the black and gold clock, which was installed as a memorial to George Samuel Jenman.
As the government botanist and superintendent, he was largely responsible for the initial layout and design of the gardens.

Over time, the building was expanded with a western wing to house the gatekeeper. It also features a brass tablet dedicated to Sir John Henzon, a former Director of Science and Agriculture. This historical landmark truly stands as a tribute to the people who helped shape one of Guyana's most beloved green spaces.
