People often ask about the March weather in Mongolia. Truth is the days are often sunny, and with the proper clothing reasonably comfortable. So with the exception of the odd snow storm (which only adds to the whole adventure), it is not particularly harsh.

Our logistal machine also runs like clockwork these days, and so every night we have clients sleeping cozily in warm gers (which are set up in advance of our arrival at various different destinations).

Two things. Firstly, I was surprised at just how rewarding it feels to help shepherd the the family's livestock, and secondly, apart from this particular day (when we trekked headlong into a snow storm), just how warm and sunny most of the days were (blue sky pics to follow).

Mongolia in March! What an adventure. Tracking wolves & snow leopards, following a nomadic winter migration, joining Naruuz family feasts & exploring remote borderlands with China & Russia. Thanks to a fantastic bunch who were as far removed from California as you could get!

Received encouraging news today regarding normalisation of direct flights to/from one of our all time favourite destinations: Mongolia.

Bi-weekly flights to resume between Hong Kong and Ulan Bator on November 22, with provisional plans by MIAT to increase to a full schedule (5 or 6 flights a week) beginning next April; hopefully all in good time for the start of the 2023 summer season.

Well, an epic trekking expedition to explore one of the most beautiful wildernesses in Asia; the spiritually-charged 'White Peak Of The Three Bodhisattvas', and the spectacular striated valleys that meander down from it's remote southeastern flanks.

Why not join us in Bhutan this November, and close out 2022 with some proper !

Join an epic expedition in Northern Bhutan in October 2022, to trek an exploratory route to explore the highest unclimbed peak in the world.

Well after a long Covid-induced hibernation our first trip back is in the bag: a hard but spectacular traverse of the Great Divide from the lush green Pangi Valey in Himachal Pradesh, to beautifully arid Zanskar in Ladakh.

You may have noticed we have been offline for a while, patiently waiting for things to start moving again in Asia. Well yesterday, there was more promising news, with Mongolia announcing the removal of all travel restrictions. And so, after the resumption of international flights, it should be possible to explore the land of big blue skies, eagle hunters, and intoxicating mares milk once again. Fingers crossed for the summer!

Spent the day recceing a new round-island coasteering route in Sai Kung recently. Accessed by kayak, it turned out to be a fantastic route, with multiple big jumps, beautiful sea caves, and very clear water.
