Day 8: Last Day in Spain
We kicked off our final day in Spain before the sun even thought about rising—up at 4:30 a.m. for a sunrise paddling session on the Mediterranean. Barcelona was still wrapped in its darkest hour as we pushed off, but little by little, the sky softened, and we watched in awe as the horizon caught fire in shades of pink and gold. It was absolutely stunning.
Our students glided across the calm sea, paddling and surfing as the sun climbed higher, painting the water with light. After a peaceful morning soaking up the beach—chilling, playing, and savoring those last salty breezes—we made our way to the final stop on our summer camp itinerary: Park Güell.
From the park’s iconic plaza, we gazed out at Sagrada Família in the distance, its spires rising like something from a dream. Every corner of Park Güell bears Gaudí's whimsical touch—colorful mosaics, curving stone, and playful shapes—and we snapped what felt like a thousand photos, trying to capture the magic.
That evening, we gathered for one last feast of paella and tapas, toasting to an unforgettable journey. It was a trip filled with sweat, laughter, and memories we’ll carry long after the tan lines fade.
