When many parts of China slip into hot, humid summer mode, the days can feel like a loop of air-conditioned rooms, heat waves, and heavy air.

But in Arctic Svalbard, summer opens in a very different way.

There is no city heat here.
Only the midnight sun, ice-filled seas, fjords, drifting sea ice, and glaciers.

Seabirds circle above the cliffs.
Seals rest on the ice.
Walruses gather along the shore.

This high-latitude wilderness has another name: the Kingdom of Polar Bears.

Around Svalbard and its surrounding waters, about 3,000 polar bears live across the Arctic landscape. They may appear on the sea ice, or simply leave behind a line of tracks leading deeper into the wild.

In July 2026, Seaventure will sail the “Explore the Kingdom of Polar Bears” expedition with 66° Expeditions.

If weather and ice conditions allow, Seaventure will challenge the 80°N ice edge and enter a high-latitude world where sea ice and Arctic life meet.

Summer does not have only one temperature.

It can also be midnight sun, icy seas, polar bears, and a voyage toward 80°N.

Save this Arctic summer coordinate.
If you could choose one Svalbard moment, would it be the ice edge, the polar bears, or the midnight sun?

When was the last time you felt truly quiet?

Antarctica is not only something to see.
It is something that changes the scale of everything around you.

Aboard Seaventure, journey south toward Antarctica.
Slowly, the sound of everyday life begins to fade.

There is wind, sea, ice,
and the sound of a ship moving through frozen water.

Blue ice is not just beautiful on camera.
It carries traces of time and pressure held within the ice.

Penguins do not stop for you.
Here, humans learn to step aside and let wildlife continue its own rhythm.

And if you see whales breathing at the surface, or seals resting on ice,
you may understand that awe does not always need to be loud.

Antarctica stays with you not only as scenery.
It makes the world feel vast again,
and makes you quiet enough to notice it.

Antarctica 2026 Starter Guide: A First-Timer-Friendly Route

If Antarctica is on your list for the first time, you do not have to start with the Antarctic Circle or a long South Georgia itinerary.

For travelers who want a clear first impression of the classic Antarctic landscape, the November 14, 2026 Antarctic Peninsula voyage is a strong option to consider.

This 12-day, 11-night round-trip voyage from Ushuaia aboard Seaventure explores the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands.

Why is it suitable for first-time Antarctica travelers?

🧭 1. The length is easier to plan
At 12 days and 11 nights, it is more manageable for a regular annual leave window than longer Antarctic itineraries.

🚢 2. It is easier to start with
The Antarctic Peninsula is the classic first introduction to Antarctica. The route is focused, the destination mix is not overly complicated, and the experience helps travelers build a complete first impression.

🐧 3. The classic highlights are concentrated
Think Antarctic Peninsula, South Shetland Islands, ice-filled bays, penguins, glaciers, and wild coastlines.

🇨🇳 4. A meaningful China connection
This voyage includes a planned visit to Great Wall Station in the South Shetland Islands, a memorable coordinate connected to China's Antarctic research history.

❄️ 5. Mid-November already feels unmistakably Antarctic
Early in the Antarctic travel season, the snow and ice still feel fresh, while penguins, coastlines, glaciers, and polar wildlife scenes begin to shape a vivid first impression.

📖 6. First-timers need a sense of ease
Seaventure is a boutique expedition ship by 66° Expeditions, with Mandarin-friendly service, onboard lectures, and expedition team support. Your first Antarctica journey is not only about seeing the scenery, but also about understanding the region.

Best for travelers who are visiting Antarctica for the first time, have limited vacation time, want the classic Peninsula experience, and value Mandarin-friendly service.

Antarctica’s First Day of School: Meet the Cutest “New Class”

❄️ If Antarctica had a back-to-school season, October would feel like the first day of class.

Most first-time travelers look straight at the December–January peak season. But those who do their homework also take a closer look at October, the opening chapter of the Antarctic travel season.

🧭 Why consider the early season?

❄️ Cleaner, fresher snow
At the start of the season, much of the landscape still carries that untouched, just-begun feeling.

🌊 A quieter rhythm
October is not the busiest window, which can mean a calmer pace and relatively lower visitor density.

🐧 South Georgia changes the story
This voyage is not only about the Antarctic Peninsula. It begins with South Georgia, one of the most iconic habitats for king penguins, before continuing to the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.

🚢 A deeper first Antarctic journey
This 19-day / 18-night voyage includes one pre-voyage hotel night and 17 nights aboard Seaventure. It departs on October 19, 2026 from Mar del Plata and ends in Ushuaia.

For first-time Antarctica travelers who want more than the classic Peninsula route, this October voyage is worth a closer look.

If this is your first journey to the Arctic, don't let it be just another check-in destination.

Svalbard is a place worth exploring in depth. 🐻‍❄️

It is not only the Kingdom of the Polar Bear. In Ny-Ålesund, one of the northernmost research settlements in the world, a red wooden house with two Chinese stone lions at its entrance often stops Chinese travelers in their tracks. 🏠

This is China's Arctic Yellow River Station. To find familiar Chinese characters and cultural symbols this deep in the Arctic is a quiet reminder that this distant frozen world is also connected to us.

Summer in Svalbard has a kind of vitality that Antarctica cannot offer. 🌞 Under the 24-hour midnight sun, drifting ice, fjords, and the sea all feel wide awake. Walruses gather along the shore, seals rest on floating ice, Arctic foxes cross the tundra, reindeer wander among the rocks, and seabirds rise in flocks from the cliffs.

And the most breathtaking moment still belongs to the polar bear. 🐾 With the expedition team, you journey through icy waters and sea ice, waiting for that white silhouette to appear.

If weather and ice conditions allow, Seaventure will continue north toward the ice edge near 80°N. ❄️ This is where sea ice meets open water — an important habitat for Arctic wildlife.

In the summer of 2026, join Seaventure on "Explore the Kingdom of the Polar Bear" and discover more than one kind of Arctic wonder in Svalbard.

At 71° North Latitude lies an island named Jan Mayen. 🌊

According to estimates by polar travel agencies, only a few hundred travelers worldwide manage to reach Jan Mayen each year. It has no permanent residents and no commercial flights; it is not a destination you can simply reach by purchasing a plane ticket. 🧭

For this very reason, many polar travelers regard Jan Mayen as a landing site—a lifelong dream they aspire to fulfill. Approaching it requires more than just longing; it demands a measure of luck and a touch of determination. 🚢

Here, you will find black volcanic beaches, low-lying tundra shaped by the sea breeze, and Mount Beerenberg—a volcano perpetually shrouded in clouds. Suspended in isolation deep within the Arctic Ocean, it is a place both stark and desolate—and utterly unforgettable. 🏔️

If you, too, wish to behold it, join the *Seaventure* on June 24, 2026, for a journey northward from Iceland. ❄️

The voyage begins by traversing the Westfjords, crossing the Arctic Circle at Grímsey Island, and then approaching Jan Mayen at 71° North. Afterward, the ship continues toward the northern ice edge of Svalbard. Should weather and ice conditions permit, we will even attempt to venture into the remote waters beyond the 80° North latitude line. 🌍

Along the way, you will encounter a host of Arctic wildlife—unexpected meetings with puffins, seals, whales, and even polar bears. 🐻‍❄️

Also joining us on board is Nobel Peace Prize laureate John E. Hay. He will share insights into the changes currently unfolding in the Arctic, as well as the past, present, and future of this icy realm. 📖

This itinerary is titled the "Arctic Trio."
13 Days, 12 Nights: Iceland | Jan Mayen | Svalbard. ✨

If weather and sea conditions align in our favor, we look forward to meeting you at 71° North.

Columbus in 1492, da Gama in 1497, Magellan in 1519...
How far removed are we from the Age of Discovery chronicled in our history books? 🌊

More than five centuries later, the *Poseidon* sets sail from Dakar, West Africa, tracing the maritime footsteps of the Age of Discovery as she journeys toward Lisbon, Portugal.

This is a deep-sea voyage spanning 19 days and 18 nights, connecting six distinct Atlantic coordinates:

🇸🇳 Senegal · Dakar
🇨🇻 Cape Verde
🇪🇸 Canary Islands
🇲🇦 Morocco
🇬🇧 Gibraltar
🇵🇹 Portugal · Lisbon

Volcanic islands, gateways to the desert, ancient ports, the meeting point of two seas...
Each stop represents a coordinate left behind on the ocean by the Age of Discovery.

Yet this time, the voyage is viewed through an Eastern lens.
Familiar Chinese cuisine 🍜
Comfortable, restful nights at sea 🌙
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wellness services and full-time Chinese-language support 🫖
Ensuring that as Chinese travelers sail toward distant horizons,
they remain cared for with the utmost attention and comfort.

The maiden voyage has already set sail, but the new journey has only just begun.
A wider world awaits our exploration.
The decks of the *Seaventure* await your arrival—whenever you are ready to step aboard.

Who says March is the wrong time to visit Antarctica?

If the height of summer in Antarctica is the most vibrant adventure season under the midnight sun, then the Southern Ocean in March is a gentle poem interwoven with light and life.

There's no single month that's the only answer for exploring Antarctica, but every frame in this video is a unique gift from Antarctica:

A beam of sunset returning to the horizon, gilding millennia-old glaciers with profound layers; a thrilling close-up view of humpback whales breaching the surface for air on a speedboat; a grand gathering before the harsh winter seals off the region, with hundreds of thousands of penguins and albatrosses carpeting the sub-Antarctic cliffs and beaches.

21 days aboard "Seaventure," traversing three major ecological regions: the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands (Malta Islands), capturing the purest tension of life before the ice cap closes.
